That was my first thought, amazing collection. That Hawkeye statue is beautiful.

The line is just so overwhelming and expansive that I just felt like my collection was never going to feel grounded or complete.
The good news is I've now decided just to collect the many aliens, critters and rogues from Jabba's Palace. The ROTJ Palace scenes are my favorite part of all the Star Wars films to date. I just love the array of bizarre creatures on display. It just took the previous Cantina stuff to a whole new level of extraterrestrial awesomeness imo.
And admittedly it allows me to cheat not unlike the original production and include characters such as Jawa and Greedo

donofoblivion wrote: Nice Star Wars collection and ideas. Like some of you, I'm planning (but haven't done it yet) on putting some of the collection on display in my office at work too. Kind of thought a Walking Dead, Horror, and maybe even a Pop! music star section(s) might work well there--as conversation pieces, since a lot of the women have historically been Walking Dead fans...and my kids don't know horror or some of those other categories I mentioned so well. I don't think they would miss them so much at the house. Needless to say, like all of us, one has to take this hobby one step at a time. It's one that can certainly get away from you.
I kept 1 Walking Dead Pop! - wave 1 Sheriff Rick Grimes. Again another line that's just too much for me to handle. Plus admittedly I haven't watched the series post season 3 (just lost interest as it became a bit too emotionally taxing...didn't help that I was experiencing loss in real life).

- I have a very small plastic tub of Pop! singles...(21 Jump St, Step Brothers, Christmas Vacation, b9 Robot, Clark Kent into Superman etc).
- ...But yes I'm not actively looking to expand with too many random purchases or new franchise lines. It used to get away from me. But life finds a way to make you re:evaluate things.
- I won't be expanding the horror collection too much further...probably got room for another 3 max and that's only if the right characters come up
in Pop! form.
- I...made a pact with myself that I will be very selective in what I actually buy.
- The lines I'm all in to for better or worse (sans ridiculously overpriced, scarce exclusives) are Futurama and Batman 66".
The new collecting addition is the Star Wars Jabba Palace related character releases (not going near anything Skiff...Pandora's box ppl) and if the reveals wow me...*maybe* the new MOTU stuff (however I don't have wave 1 so...). But I'm going to approach this with caution before leaping in to another line...something which I was ready to do with Looney Tunes recently (really must adopt serious restraint!)...
No doubt life and circumstances might even bring about a need to clamp down further and rework the above list, but for now that's where I stand in the Pop! world...
.

Sorry about those really big challenges you mentioned. Really, they're unavoidable...they happen to all of us now and then, at some point in our lives. I'm glad you didn't abandon the hobby and give up on everything completely. It's clear that Pop! collecting still brings you joy (me too!), and I think something like this--anything that an individual feels passionate about--is important for relief and as a bit of an escape mechanism.
For most of us, rotating our collections from time to time is a near necessity...as Funko will simply not stop introducing new, provocative, attractive lines and versions of characters. We all have to reassess from time to time and reevaluate what is most important to us.
That Clark Kent becoming Superman you mentioned is one of my favorite Pops! of all time!...even though IT'S JUST A "COMMON". I got a couple pieces signed by Adam West at the Fan Expo Dallas Comic Con he appeared at earlier this year. I said to him that it was a privilege to meet and get signatures from the Original Batman. He paused for a few seconds as if to redirect me, then substituted the words "Classic Batman" with a slight grin on his face. It made all of us in the line laugh, and I communicated to him that I stood corrected.
Yes, I will be sure to post pics of the office collection too as I progress further with that project. As I was mentioning to another collector just yesterday--"Pop Art" and comic merchandise collecting and display have become so darned expensive these days!!!
Anyway, love engaging with you and other enthusiastic collectors. Hang in there, man. You should know that you and others are in many of our prayers
Love the Adam West story

popmad2016 wrote:Are you looking forward to the second animated film with Shatner as Two Face?!
I can't imagine how people collect (or can afford!) all the replica prop and statue pieces getting released. I mean they are spending thousands of dollars...for me $300 is a HUGE investment on a collectible piece...even in the good times!

I really want to see how it comes out and how you feel about it. I am also interested in knowing what the back is made of.

I didn't even know about the film or Shatner as Two Face! Thanks for the communication.
Regarding the latter comment--yeah, the numbers associated with some Pop! and Statue transactions is staggering! It's rather obvious that one of the reasons prices have held up so well is because there are suitors at various levels--which testifies to Funko's broad-based appeal. Of course, no one has everything. I really do have fun seeing what's in other people's collections, and how they arrange and manage their collectibles.
I started out insect and stamp collecting when I was a kid...and now...well...here I am--a funatic! I/we seem to be in generally good company on this board--sharing comments and ideas with fun-minded people of all ages and levels. I think most of us realize it's not the size of our individual collections that matters most. Even though I know it sounds cliché, it's an individual's passion that means the most...to continue to be enthusiastic about collecting when others around you think you're crazy...or to return or continue collecting or participating on the board in the face of hardship. I'm going to step off a limb and say that what I think Funko appreciates most is enthusiasm. It'd be great if everyone had Gi-normous collections, but not everyone can. That's why a good portion of the Funko business focuses on producing products that are pretty affordable. Where the price goes from there is not their direct doing. I think Funko goes out of its' way to reward faithfulness and enthusiasm--with recognition/participation "gifts", awards and labels of encouragement, first purchase options, and so on. Enthusiastic collectors with small collections are every bit as important and "Big" to Funko as any other...at least, that's what I believe. A collection size is not an absolute indicator or measure of enthusiasm. Some flippers, for instance, have a lot of stuff; some very enthusiastic collectors, perhaps like yourself, may have less by comparison. You yourself appear to be one among a number of enthusiastic collectors here--remarkable in my mind for having gone thru apparent hardship and challenge, and you're still showing up here on this board trying to participate. My hats off to you, popmad2016. I for one am glad you're a funatic
Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar will once again be returning to voice their characters alongside Shatner as Two-Face. I'm assuming it's an animated adaptation of the unproduced 66" script that was turned into a comic a few years back...
Proud to be a fellow funatic!
