I know I braved the line Saturday for the Funko booth and I feel if I buy an exclusive at SDCC that I shouldn't be finding the same "exclusive" at B&N or HT. If that is the case it is no longer an exclusive and why should I stand in line at Funko's booth? I have bought "exclusives from the Blizzard booth for the past two years and have been happy when they have their BlizzCon that my SDCC exclusive is not being sold their, or if it is, it is a different color scheme.

In fact, when I was at B&N for the Marvel day, we picked up a Purple Dave at 1 store and a Purple Carl at the other store.
Both had the "regular" Funko convention exclusive sticker", however they were both sitting next to the GITD White Walker Legacy figure which had the SDCC sticker (the one on the left of the image posted earlier here).

Oh and a little off topic, The Purple Dave and Purple Carl were both the last ones available at those stores, so lucky to get them both in 1 day! :D

If the sticker doesn't matter then someone should trade me their SDCC stickered Hershel for my HT stickered Hershel :)

Thank you to all of the contributors who explained the differences. Sincerely appreciate it!

So is it worth having both versions, then?

nice.

Why does it matter? :( Is it not enabling and funding flippers..?

*Even the geographic position isn't defnite, if some are being Convention-stickered in various places and SDCC-stickered from some online vendors.

I think there are three ways to go about this...

1. It makes no difference. A figure is a figure is a figure. Most of us are paying money for what's inside the box anyway, right? If you're an out-of-box collector, this is your best case scenario. Didn't Funko do us all a solid by making these exclusives available outside of the confines of SDCC?

2. It makes some difference. It's nice to have that small little reminder that you made the trip to San Diego, survived Fun Days (if you went), braved the ridiculous lines (sometimes more than once), and made the trip back home without damaging any of the boxes. There's some value in that.

3. It makes no sense. There is no doubt that no matter what your opinion is of the stickers, flippers will always make more on the SDCC stickers. Why did Funko go out of its way to make two types of stickers, anyway? Is there some rule that forbids SDCC stickers from being available in brick and mortar shops?

I read somewhere that the SDCC didn't want their logo on the Barnes and Noble and Hot Topic versions this year

There'd have to be a fourth group - your group 2 only includes people who "made the trip," and some/many (who want the SDCC sticker) did not...

So: Category 4: Uber-completionists.

Another question then: did they also require those sold on-site to have the SDCC "brand," or was it Funko's choice - and clearly some people support it - not to just put "Exclusive" on everything and only have the one sticker..?

Definitely not required, as several other booths only had the generic "Convention Exclusive" sticker (ie Metallic Dr. Doom)

But FUNKO's own booth had the logo, correct? And was that logo a separate sticker layered on top of the HT/B&N exclusive sticker? Meaning someone could take off the CCI logo from it or they would have to take off the entire exclusive sticker.

SURPRISE SURPRISE!

Here's something interesting I found at my local Barnes & Noble. A few of the White Walker figures had the "Con" sticker on them. There weren't any other figures with that sticker, but then again there weren't that many other figures left, either. Just thought I'd share...

I am an in box collector, and even I don't think that the whole sticker thing is that big of an issue. The pops are identical, and isn't that what really matters? I don't think someone would discount your frozen anna or GITD olaf just because of a sticker :/

I am just apperceive that they did release the exclusives in other stores because that means I could actually own them without having to pay ridiculous ebay prices. Be happy people :) you have exclusives!

As someone who spends the time and money to go to SDCC and chooses to spend some of my time waiting in line to get SDCC exclusives, I'd prefer if the exclusives were NOT available outside of the con.

OR...

Just let us know they will be widely available and I will not waste my precious SDCC time in line there when I can order them from B&N while doing other fun things (like spending my time waiting in a different line for a panel or Hall H ;) )

Either way works for me but pick one dangit!

Now it's nothing to worry about between the real Comic Con sticker and the generic one. The Funko Pop inside is the same.

But on the late run, like 50 years in the future, they'll say things like: "Oh cool, it still has the sticker on it and it's the real Comic Con one. Now is the value much higher and more attractive for the real collectors" ;-)

History repeats itself anyhow, I know someone who has figures from the late 60's and those with stickers or other things that should have stuff stuck on them are more valuable after so many years!

The only reason this bugs me is because I flew 18 hours to get to SDCC and queued overnight multiple times just to buy the stuff from Funko and still didn't get into the booth to get those exclusives. I am not usually bugged by the sticker, but it would've been nice to own them as a souvenir from my travels :(

Some of the Con items have the edition size on the stickers, many do not. Does anyone here know the production numbers for some or all of the pieces? Up until this con, didn't all stickers (with the exception of 2005??) include the numbers?

Kip. The real reason you couldn't make it to the booth was that the exhibitor badges are already in before you even make it in. Fault lies there. Not with retailers getting a supply of them to sell. At convention prices mind you.

Those with a known number are listed as such in NightmareMermaid's comprehensive SDCC thread. The "limited" are unknown, but surely high...

Being an in-boxer type of POP guy, I kinda care about the sticker. I was glad to get my Hershel from a local Hot Topic, but I did use a lot of time in that Funko line at the Con just to get kicked out of the area 5 different times. So I really want the SDCC sticker on my POP. If you take yours all out of the box then it probably doesn't matter as much.

If you're on Ebay though, lots of folks DO care about the SDCC sticker on the box, bidding goes higher for those because of it. Strange but true. On average it looks like an SDCC sticker on a high demand POP (like Hershel) was going for about $20-25 more than one with the Convention Exclusive sticker.

I myself am actually happy when I spot an exclusive Funko without sticker because they are usually somewhat cheaper and I don't really care about the sticker.

Also: I can still just put on one from another Funko as they are not exclusive to the line but rather Funko in general and you can get lots of exclusive Funkos for 10-15$. So if I save 50$ because there is no sticker on it I still end up saving a bunch :)
