Lootcrate Funko Exclusives

Postby Trixt » Mon Apr 21, 2014 3:19 am

Lootcrate just tweeted.

"Fan of @OriginalFunko products? Working on some epic exclusives this year, starting.. very soon :) Only find @OriginalFunko in our service."

Could be interesting if they only come in the boxes, I canceled my sub a few months back but this would get me to start up again.

That's funny. lootcrate and nerd block were what got me into collecting pops!

I had no about the existence of pops and wanted to get into collecting something. Found lootcrate and nerd block, but after watching some unboxing videos I saw they included bobbleheads of cool characters from time to time.

Snooped around the net for a bit and found out what they were. Now I'm collecting pops.

I got my mom a food version of this for Christmas ("love with food") which has been just stellar. I like seeing what she gets as much as she does. I'll definitely be getting her it again this year.

I didn't know about lootcrate. Nerdblock I had heard of but cant swing $20 a month. 6 months of lootcrate is only $105? I just had a birthday and have $200 I didn't know what to spend it on...this looks like a wonderful treat for myself. I'm gonna think on it and maybe get a year. Looks fun.

My wife and I love our Loote Crates. Some months aren't as good as others, but we just like the Funko and T-shirts that come in them.

Cool, but I probably won't subscribe, just get the exclusive on the second-hand market if I want it.

Me either, I don't have any feelings either way towards Lootcrate, but I think making something exclusive to a subscription service is not a good idea. But if i was interested in the exclusive itself, I would just buy it off someone.

Ever since I canceled my sub for lootcrate they have a lot of "leftover stock" sales near the end of the month where you don't have to have a sub to buy and the pops are usually $8 + shipping, so don't worry too much just yet.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I don't understand why you would waste money buying things you don't want. Wouldn't you be better served taking the monthly subscription cost and buying what you like?

It not just about wasting money on things you don't like. My wife and I have gotten things we have never heard of and we looked them up to learn more about the product/TV show, comic, etc. We look at it as expanding our geek knowledge and a way of finding for more things to collect.

I am recieving my first LootCrate in the mail tomorrow and supposedly there is something Funko related in it. Can't wait to find out what is inside. It is Dragon themed so hopefully something Game of Thrones and/or Pokemon related. *fingers crossed*

Lootcrate is an overall great service, but as others above have stated some months were better than others. Not a real big video game person, which is a lot of the stuff they put in their crates. Had to cancel a few months back to cut costs, but I never had a bad experience with the service.

I took a look and I enjoy the variety I saw presented. Of course its a gamble, but I gamble $60 every time I buy a new video game I haven't tried. I like to stretch my money, and I feel like by doing this I'm stretching my $100 for 6 months. If I hadn't bought this, I probably would have nickeled and dimed my way through the $100 and not even remembered what I bought by the end. This is 6 months of surprises, and that's rare for me to come across.

I completely understand what you're saying, and I'm not trying to say you're wrong (tone is difficult in text) just my 5 cents and my rationale for making the purchase :) I'm an impulse buyer. I think I won't be disappointed.

I just signed up for my first month of Lootcrate. Mostly on a whim, and mostly because their theme is Dragons...and I love Dragons. Lootcrate Exclusives would be cool. I'm sure they'll get some new (or returning) subscribers out of it!

If you signed up today, you won't be getting the Dragon Crate, The Dragon crate was April's theme, and those orders closed last week. If you ordered today your crate will be the May box. They usually announce the theme near the first of the month.

guess we could always jump in if there is something we want by buying a monthly subscription if they announce content around the 1st and last orders are around 15th. 2 week window.

I think that's just the theme though, looks like the actual contents are a little more secret. Although they are well aware of the increased business they stand to gain from an exclusive pop. They might not get specific but I bet they'd announce it in some way.

They usually have a blind box in them, this time it was the game of thrones funko vinyl figure edition 1 blind box.
Other than that it usually has like 1 or 2 varying items, the other item this time was the colored dungeons and dragon die which varies.

Ye, it's different for everyone I suppose I have two subs for the family everything the same except for the mystery minis, which turned to be Ned Stark and a White Walker (not GITD). The lootcrate exclusive nord was cool though and the D&D dice.

Hmmmm, mixed reviews on lootcrate.... I've never really looked into it, but I hate having junk lying around that I don't want, seems like half the stuff you get is junk and discarded. Anyway thanks for everyone's input, I was thinking about subscribing and now I have my answer :)

I agree if you are looking for something specific, then don't subscribe as it will vary on whatever theme they pick for the month. Some of the stuff is random mixed in with one or two items that are keepers which is usually a t-shirt, a collectible, or a comic/book/manga. We like them for the shirts (usually gamer related I think from shirt.woot mostly) and the vinyls, plus we like the blind box concept. As for vinyls so far we have received a Pop, mystery mini, kidrobot figures, and an elder scroll vinyl the nord along with some tshirts. I usually burn $20 eating lunch so for me giving up a lunch day and just making lunch is worth it.
