I have their grandfathers, the Nodnik blanks (both buff and chubby- and Funko named them, not me!!) still boxed and on my shelf. Memories.....

lol i guess my hopeful thinking worked, i mean it would have been dumb of funko not to do this. . . kidrobot has been killing the market with their blanks and created a sa of other companies following suit

it will be a big help for me but, i do like chopping up the ones that are already made. Why sculpt hair or a jacket when you can find something already done close to what you need and edit it. I do think it will catch on with other artists the do Dunnys, munnys and the other DIY blanks.

Yeah, its much easier to change something to what you want than to start from scratch. 9 times out of 10 I have been able to find something close or similar to what I need to make, already made in some sense.

These are really great! I agree with others in that chasing down different body parts is half the fun, but it's still really cool to have a blank slate completely accessible and ready to go.

I think half the fun would be testing out different techniques and some good old trial and error that doesn't force you to buy another Pop to fix it, or drive you to insanity because something won't work right.

(I think all customizers secretly love going crazy over it, especially when the final product ends up awesome. I know I feel that way, haha.)

These are rad. Will make open window for Pops that are truly custom and not just repaints or modded Pops. Not that those are bad but I think seeing actual user creations from a completely blank canvas will be amazing. I own a couple custom Munny that are great examples of the level I'd like to see come to Pops. Check these out.

hmmm... I'm debating whether or not I should add one of each to my in-box collection... or if that would even be a thing o.o

These are cool, but I have mixed feelings about starting from scratch on a custom.

As a long-time Funko customizer, I was thrilled about the possibility of a DIY figure. But this piece won't be that useful for me in creating my customs. The female DIY figure is silly. If I'm customizing a character's clothing, hair, accessories, etc, I think I can manage adding breasts to a generic human form. Hey, I'm just saying. But I'd like to get a DYI figure to just display. The simple white form is nice.

But the real question is, what will the CHASE pieces look like?

I'd love to see an all silver version. Or a white-pearlescent Chase version.

it would be nice if they had detailed muscular versions of the male and slim versions of the females.

As a buyer of other Funatics customs, I'm a bit torn. I agree with what several people said about taking the closest pieces and modifying - like playing Dr. with Frankenstein. On the other hand, I do think this opens up new possibilities. But, oddly, I think it takes more vision and creativity to modify a current Pop! than to modify a blank.

It is good to know what if I lost my chest or you guys gained one, we would be the same. I better hold on.

I just ordered these so I can maybe try my hand at custom pops. I am sketching out Ninja and Yolandi Vi$$er from Die Antwoord. I am sincerely dissapointed that the female body just looks different in the chest. I might have to mutilate a different female pop like TWD Maggie to get that skinny bod. Yolandi weighs like 75-80 lbs
