How is your hot topic with exclusives?

Postby joshxeo » Fri Oct 25, 2013 9:30 pm

Today I was surprised to find 2 sdcc bloody rick grimes, 2 bloody daryls, as well as several of each of the newly released exclusives. How's your hot topic with exclusives?

Mine is big on Thor and Hipster Ariel; not so hot on any other exclusive.
If it's all the same to you, I think I'll have that drink.

Luckily I have several in my home and work area. The one in Fairfield CA always gets them and gets them early

I have 2 close to me and they are hit or miss. I got hipster Ariel on the one by my work but neither of them have any of the new MLP. Haven't really looked for anything else.

Not a lot of POP collectors in Utah so hot topics usually have a great selection. Kind of strange is that the paint jobs are usually sub par on 3 out of 4.

I have the same problem at the Layton Hills Mall UT Hot Topic. I don't know if it's a regional problem but I can hardly ever find a decently painted figure.
BTW where do you find the best pops here in Utah?

Mine is pretty good. I'm in with the manager there. The problem is that apparently a bunch of other people in the area collect Pops as well, so I have some competition. heh

Mine are hit or miss. Right now they have a bunch of Ariel with the glasses and helmet Thor. I have two hot topics near me that I frequent and a third one in the next state over that I go to every now and then. The two near me seem to get everything late and in very small quantities. The third one I don't go to enough to know what their inventory is really like.

One is really good and one is really bad (or late). I live in-between the two so it is a 30min drive either way.

The one I'm closest to isn't bad, after talking with the guy he revealed that they are a smaller store so they get stuff in smaller quantities. He told me he only knows of 1 crystal pony that they have ever gotten. But I've been able to find what I've been looking for.

Mine always gets them if thats what youre asking. Generally, they are very slow though. An item can be posted on the website yet my local store wont have it in for weeks or months. And you gotta be there right when the cases are opened or you are guarenteed to get cruddy boxes.

My local HT is great, mainly because Haydenstorm charms the exclusives right from their hands.

No complaints so far, I managed to find 2 GITD Jacks and a GITD Sally, also saw Hipster Ariel, Blackest Night Batman, Helmet Thor, Mallet Harley, and X-Force Deadpool today.

I like the one at Arden Fair in Sacramento, I never have a problem finding any exclusives and the staff are always super helpful. No need to travel to any of the other locations as this one always has a nice amount

I've only seen Helmet!Thor, Hipster Ariel and a couple of bloody Walking Dead pieces. Oh and Poncho Daryl. I don't follow TWD closely or at all to know which ones are great exclusives. As far as SDCC I've only seen Zombie!Jake

My HT has actually been pretty good. If there's an exclusive then it's usually there by the time most east coast people get it and they don't disappear very quickly. I picked up the Harley Quinn with Mallet today and a week ago they didn't have it. So I'm good :)

I actually live far-ish from any hot topics. I went to one today bc my eye dr is nearby. They had no crystal ponies, one helmet thor (he is mine now), a few ariels with glasses (i got one), but no HQ with her mallet which i bummed about. Oh, they also had 3 blackest night batmans as well.

I had my brother pick up HQ mallet and Blackest Night Batman at HT earlier today, Can't go wrong in getting one for half off either. :)

My Hot Topic is okay about getting exclusives, they seem to get the exclusives a little later than other stores but my fiance was able to pick me up all the recent exclusives for my birthday. Except he wasn't able to find GITD Sally or Ezio. :(

I've been pretty impressed with my closest HT. It's had quite a few exclusives that include both POPs and other Funkos. My latest find was the bloody Poncho Daryl. I always get goosebumps when I see a rarer piece.

I've only been checking my one and only local HT the past month or so. I've gone three times and every time I've found an exclusive, the GITD Jack, Hipster Ariel, and two crystal ponies. I've also seen the Helmet Thor, Blackest Night Batman, TWD exclusives, etc. I never found a GITD Sally though I don't think they ever got one in because they never had the regular Sally either. I don't think there are any other Pop collectors in the area so I've been able to find what I need. I did get the GITD Jack right after they put it out I think, as the other regular Jacks sold out within a couple of weeks. I don't think Pop collectors bought them though, but NBC collectors, as they were displayed separately from the other Pops.

Went to my closest Hot Topic today and found the HT Exclusive Ariel with glasses. Picked it up for my mom (huge Disney fanatic) and got myself the Santa Jack Skellington. They had some pretty cool figures but they were put away on high shelfs so I could only grab a few without assistance.
