I had 191 going into comic-con, 216 since then, and also patiently waiting for the Pre-buy. I dont think i'll ever catch up to Carol, unless I win the lottery, LOL.
I'm a newbie collector so I doubt I'll ever get all the Freddys or all the Deadpool variants... and I'm fine with that

Well I have 224 at the moment, SDCC exclusives pre-buy coming soon (from a fellow funko funatic) but yeah.

I think I have the complete regular set of disney, sponge bob, despicable me and a few others that I can't recall at the moment

If its sold as 1 item .. it counts as 1 item ..

2 POP!s sold in one box = 1 item

4 POP!s sold in one box = 1 item

That's your opinion...we are tallying pop FIGURES...those of us who display out of the box can't possibly use your method to count....1 figure, 1 to count.

Then your logic is flawed ,, why isn't a Proto a figure ?

Why isn't a custom a figure ?

Why isn't a POP! Bookmark that has a figure on it counted ?

Why don't any of these count ?

They are unique pieces as unique as a chase or exclusive variant of an already made POP! .. but you are counting those right ?

Do you buy a set individually .. or together as a set ?

It all everyone's own opinion .. lol

Personally in my POP! Collection Updates I have two different totals.
Total (in boxes)
Grand Total (with Protos, Customs, and display POP!s)

I don't count doubles .. and count one POP! for the one box I bought,
I'm not padding my count ... :roflmao:

I'm not counting or collecting boxes, you are. I count production figures only, you're trying to provoke an argument and you will not succeed...you display in boxes, i don't. I don't count bookmarks in that figure but i list them separately, i have them all so it really doesn't matter.

You explained how you count them .. I explained how I count them ..

I'm just trying to understand the logic behind not just yours .. but anyone's way of counting there collection ..

To each there own .. this isn't an exact science ..

I think the best example would be the Beatles Pop. You can buy each of them seperately and they will count as four pops. But if you buy the Beatles set with the book, it comes in one box, so counting them as one item makes no sense since we are comparing the exact same Pops.

Irregardless, you guys have more Pops/items then me.

I think I must be around 60? Some of mine are in storage so it is tough for me to count. Comic-Con and Fundays increased that number dramatically, but I'm pretty far in student debt, so I have to limit. I collect based upon my fancy though - I gave up completing sets long ago. Mainly Disney and Star Wars.

I'm at about 320 right now (before the SDCC pieces). I'm a completionist when it comes to Marvel, DC, Disney, and Star Wars. Then I just get whatever other ones appeal to me.

Are we counting packaging variations as separate pieces? Like for example there are 4 clamshell packages for Heroes characters, 3 different Play & Collect boxes for the glow batmans/joker, etc. What about error pieces as well?

I know there's currently 14 Batman variations alone. lol

My collection is still a huge work in progress. I have about 20. I've only recently had a little money to spend. But it's getting there!

I only have about 25-30 pop figures with an equal amount of protos. Space is tight so I tend to do a lot of picking and choosing.

I'm most proud of my Freddy Proto collection. 16 Freddy Funday Pop Protos - I currently need all but one of the 2013 (HELP!)
The crazy color Freddy protos
One 9" freddy proto (purple head). (would like to find green head and b&w)

I probably won't go after any of the 9" Freddy protos other than the three that are just Freddy. Not enough space.

Only sitting with probably 150-160 for now, lots still on their way to us from SDCC and other pre-orders. We are really only completists with Marvel and Disney runs while we pick and choose with everything else.

I did a quick count and I think it's 205. But, I have more on the way. I am in no way a completist, I don't own any protos and actually am trying to keep my pop collecting a bit more focused in specific areas. When I first started I went a little crazy and bought many figures I'm not all that wild about. Now I will only buy figures that I find visually appealing or have sentimental value to me. At the rate pops are coming out I just don't have the room for everything and I find that I enjoy them more when there are less of them to look at. I also keep my Christmas themed pops stored away and will only take them out to enjoy around the holidays...I appreciate them more that way and it saves room for others. Cluttered shelves drive me crazy!
