I don't think Steve gets Freddy's for free. He purchases items from Funko to sell as a retailer.

Attending Fundays is a chance to come home with something awesome for your collection, but not a guarantee. The only guarantee is that you'll get a Box of Fun that was part of your admission, unless it gets stolen by some prick.

I was at the table with the Cavalcade guys. They were super nice and we only won once. They had two guys there so that meant double prizes. Plus whatever got thrown around at the end. I wouldn't say we won a lot. Some tables got 4-5 wins. A couple tables got basically nothing though . It really seems like Funko wanted everyone to win something but they could have probably handled give aways slightly differently

"You're gonna get stuck with that piece, there's 1,000 more being produced" but he didn't budge!

Probably the same booth that was selling Illidan for $50 on Saturday... lol. I did end up picking up a metallic Donatello for a friend at another booth for $25 which is at least reasonable.

You have to remember, venders are trying to cover their travel and booth expenses and have a lot of fees/taxes they have to pay for setting up at the con.

It can be difficult, and even though they may be collectors, they are also trying to make a living and support their families

I think people are underestimating how insane Blizzard fans are... You think Funko fans are nutty? These guys are worse then Starwars fans. To us /1000 is a high run for a figure, which is for a Funko known pop, but this is a funko/blizzard known pop, I have a feeling Illidan will be extremely tough to find soon, much tougher then people assume.

Blizzard does have their own con with a ton of people. I completely agree with vinny. /1000 isn't much when you consider how many blizzard and pop fans are out there

Wow and all its expansions broke every game record for sales, and still to this day there are 8 million subscribers (mind you the last expansion was over a year ago) and those subscribers pay a $15 monthly fee to play. Their aren't many WoW toys out, let alone cool looking, These are the people that they will buy 1-2-3 of them, they will open them, they will throw away the boxes. They will never be seen again lol

If I still played WoW I'd be wanting one of those Illidans baaaaaad. I can guarantee about 4-500 of these are going to be lost to non-collectors.

You could view through the negative side and say "lost" to non-Funko collectors, or positive by being appreciated by World of Warcraft enthusiasts. Heck, same with the Disney line and many others.

Elaine I agree. I don't play WoW but my friend does. He thought i was still going to sdcc and he linked me to illidan asking if I could pick him up 2. He's never seen pops before.

Needless to say, I showed him only half of my Funko collection and he thinks I'm a psycho now lol

toro423 wrote:I went to Matt's Cavalcade of Comics yesterday looking for the GITD B&W Deadpool, and they were selling their Freddy pops. Didnt ask how much cus didnt need em, but they had Ace fredy, joker freddy, walker freddy, and they also had a 9" Daryl Freddy for $300 and 9" Freddy Batman proto for $200 (which isnt bad I guess) but still kinda sucks that they were all at the table right next to us at fundays, ended up getting all that (while our table got absolutely nothing) and put all for sale the following morning.

I sat at the Table with Matt's Cavalcade, nice guys, like Konidias said earlier our table got picked once and that's when the other Matt's Cavalcade got to spin the wheel and decided our table to prize them(us) up. All the tables up front were the one making the killings on the Freddy's. What fundays stuff they're were selling at their booth was what they got!! Advice for future Funday attendee's dont sit at a table in the back and try not to go to fundays as a single!!! Save room to eat a can of corn!!!

Front tables are all HOF's and Platinum members pretty much. They will always get most of the stuff as they should. The back is definitely not where you want to be though! lol

Very very true. That's the nice thing about Funko, they make something for everyone. Who knows, maybe those people who weren't collectors before will see the future Blizzard line (Diablo, Starcraft) and decide to collect them all. More sales = better for everyone in the long run :)
