What will this year's Gold Loki be?

I was wondering what this year's Gold Loki will be?

If there weren't so many variants of Deadpool, I'd think the Metallic Deadpool would be the one to get.

I'm also thinking that since the Boba Fett is the only Star Wars exclusive, this one might be the most difficult to obtain.

But with most of the exclusives at an edition size of 1008, maybe there won't be that one hard-to-get exclusive?

What does everyone else think?

Ebayers seems to think the Despicable me 2 Pops will be highly sought after. I see prices around 60$ for them on pre-order, while I for example found Dumbo for 30$.

The Big Bang Theory Pops are a large edition size, however the first of it's kind in Pop form. I don't think they will be the next Gold Loki, at least not right away. I'm thinking a 480 edition Disney exclusive, maybe the metallic two pack(whatever it may be). Or maybe the next Gold Loki will be the limited Dumbo or a D23 item.

Maybe it wont be one of the ones released at the FUNKO Booth this year...maybe it will be the Black Illodan or the Pink Flocked Hello Kitty!!! Both are definitely on my list!!!

Oh yeah, I forgot that Boba was being released in Europe as well.

Gold Loki was a special case. The regular piece was already retired, and it was getting about $100 on the secondary market.

I don't see anything in this list of exclusives that fits into that mold.

I think Boba Fett will be the hardest to get in time. It is the only Star Wars piece, and it's a 480LE. But with more coming via Celebration Europe, maybe it won't be as I hard as I think.

If #18 "off with your head" is the queen of hearts, I think that will be this years Loki.
Disney that does not have a common and limited to 480pcs. Could be the perfect storm.

I read on another website that there will be a new Game of Thrones figure announced tomorrow also. I am pretty excited about this.

At the moment I don't see anything that will be crazy (it could have been the tony stark one imo). Disney ones are always hot, but I haven't seen very many Disney pieces go too high up in value yet. Unless there is some secret POP! (aside from freddys, of course) that is a limited run and is a somewhat popular character, I don't see another gold loki this year.
At the same time, when I heard about gold loki I didn't think it would be such a hot piece.

I think the question ought to be how much will people drive up the prices on all these just to have them right now. I don't know why people get so impatient and buy pieces sold for twice as much or at times three times as much even before the con. Just dumb.

As far as this years Loki, I completely agree with HWK. Loki was a beast of his own. Only the 1/12 or 24s or maybe even the 48s should demand that amount of money.

Could be wrong but I think gitd green lantern flashpoint and sdcc metallic batman and some others sell for more then him

I think the whole Loki craze was due in part to a couple things...1, like someone said, the original was retired already so a new variant made people crazy, and Avengers was out a couple months prior, so there was still a lot of hype and demand for a villain from a recent movie that everyone loved and was everywhere.

Im going to say Turbo from Wreck it Ralph if he does get released. Just because there is only one version of him, and even more so if it is a sdcc exclusive.

I agree with Bison - if Turbo makes his debut at SDCC it will be huge. Theres a rabid Disney fanbase and the WIR Pops are still sought after (at least until the re-release). The only thing that could possibly change it is if it is a huge run like 1080 or the new "limited" runs they are using.

Kinda along the same lines as Turbo, I'm guessing that one of the most (if not the most) sought after Pop will be the Disney one making it's debut. Disney fans are rabid as are Pop fans and if it's a character that hasn't been released yet it should be a big seller, especially if it's a big name like Aladdin or something. I've noticed that another thing that drives up the price of exclusives is if they have separate numbers. Loki was numbered different than the first as was the Shadowtrooper. I really think that collectors trying to complete a number run of one Pop line are more likely to drive up the price. Just my $.02.

remember... debut means first appearance, not only appearance. whatever the Disney debut is, I expect it'll either be a variant of a soon-to-be-released character, or simply an early chance to buy a character who will be released regularly later this year.

as others have said, one or two will probably shoot up in price in the next few years, but I don't think anything will be as immediately popular as gold loki... at least, nothing we've seen yet.

He does look really cool but I wish he had Yellow Eyes. They would stand out so well and make the piece even more awesome.

Unfortunately I don't think the character has enough popularity to be like Gold Loki though.

Yeah, I'm imagining the Loki for Thor 2 will be without helmet and with the long hair... A fangirl's dream... so that will probably get scooped up fast... though it appears it has a normal large run... So if they did like an exclusive metallic Loki for Thor 2... that would probably fetch Gold Loki prices... though that isn't happening this year.
