I Johnny Depp variant/exclusive sounds about right to me. I liked Johnny a lot in the new movie, I like Gene a lot in his movie. They both did amazing jobs imo... I like to think of it like the way Heath Ledger did his rendition of the Joker compared to Jack's. It had to be new and different...if either had just tried to do their best impersonation of the previous actor they would've both failed miserably. I liked both actors about the same... I just liked the new movie as a whole better. I can't really pick which one I'd rather see as a POP i'd love to see both...even if Johnny Depp is my favorite actor. I have to give it up to Gene for his classic performance.

Agreed, just didn't really enjoy Tim Burton's vision (not a normality for me).. Seemed weird...just for the sake of being weird...if that makes any sense
