A couple of years back, on the afternoon of one of the Fundays in San Diego, my daughter Dinah was playing in Balboa Park when she fell off of a wall she was climbing on and scraped up her face (she still has a little scar on her lip). She was crying and sore and didn't really feel like joining us at Fundays that evening. She was sad most of the night, but then Brian gave FunkoFanJim a giant Freddy proto and instead of keeping it for himself he handed it to her... which put a huge smile on her face and made her entire night. And for that I am eternally grateful to Jim. The funny thing is, moments after Jim gave that one to her, Dinah won another giant Freddy proto in the raffle... which she in turn gave to Al. Here's a picture of her at the time, bloody face and all...

Anyway, not to belabor the details, but circumstances arose that forced me to sell that big Freddy (for far more than I thought it was worth, aside from the emotional attachment) and Dinah was a good sport about it, though I really felt bad about having to do so. But in the way that things come around - and I rarely believe in that "once in a lifetime" crap - I recently had the chance to replace Dinah's Freddy proto with another one - and I thank Poncho Pete wholeheartedly for that! I didn't tell her it was coming and had Pete address the box to her, so she was incredibly surprised when she tore it open to find...

So my girl and our boy are reunited at last! (and that's just about as sappy as I ever get)
