It don't mean a thing if it ain't got a spring. Come inside and chat about Funko Wacky Wobblers (bobble heads, for the less sophisticated).

Why has funko stopped making original creations like surf dude beatnik and so on. I miss the originals I collect them most of all.

Some of Funko best pieces are of the characters they created, but now people only buy the drivel that Movies make popular............leaving originality to take a backseat. Sad but true

That is why I enjoyed seeing the set of 4 customs by Tim and everyone, it was something new and showed everyone the creativity they all have to bring to the table. They should release a special set of Funko artists customs in the store. Like a set of 8 pop's all custom!

Probably be better as a rarity given away at fundays or sold on eBay again.

I'd like to see some more original stuff as well. Keep in mind they wouldn't have to do a huge run of something just like they do limited runs of some of the specials. Just enough for the Funko fans

That's why I suggested something like fundays or SDCC, so they can make it a limited edition size which could help possible maintain some value.

does something always need to be a big profit maker - a small run on a created character would be great - not to mention I'd kill for an advertising wobbler to be made. Funko is filled with great artists, some, if not all has got to have tried their hand on a character..............would love to see em' - nothing like originality!

Krofty - I'd love the Frito Bandito - Choo Choo Charlie - Chiquita Banana, Mr Clean, California Raisins, and whole load of obscure mascots - a lot of the old time mascots from my youth. Advertising wobblers like Bazooka Joe, Cracker Jack & Betty is what started me on this course of madness................won't even get into the old cartoon characters I'd love to see. LOL

Honest truth is Funko is serving two customer bases. The mass market and the smaller Funko collector. The mass market is the guy who buys the Walking Dead set to put on his desk at work while the collector is the one who hunts after the chase pieces and Freddy Funkos. I suspect there is room enough for both and Funko will continue to serve both well.

:-k Hmmm.... better make it 3 groups if we have to lable... I don't collect chases, protos, Freddy Funkos, etc, but that doesn't mean I'm not a collector. I DO COLLECT "mass market" pieces, doesn't make me any more or less special then everyone else.

The way I read it... there were the people who "count"... the ones who go after exclusives... and the people who "don't count" because they only buy the ones they want because of a TV show / Movie / Etc. and NOT because they are a Pop!

I am someone who collects Pop!s for the joy of collecting what I like, regurdless of monitary worth, bragging rights or other people's opinons.

I was simply making the point that Funko's customer base varies and Funko does a good job of catering to both the mass market purchasers as well as the ardent collector. I never implied that one counts more than the other.

I didn't mean that you were saying one counts more then the other... I meant count as an all around Pop! collector and not just a collector of a few Pop!s because they are from a movie or show.

Luna,

You have already said you only collect that you like. Everyone collects in there own way, there is no specific way to collect any type of Funko. You mention the "all around POP!" collector, to me that would mean something from every category of POP!s, that would include Freddy's, not necessarily everything from a category. Chases and exclusives aren't for everyone who collects, some just think "I have one of that POP!, what do I need another of the same one just cause it GLOWS". Sacrilege such talk about the GLOWS, but ...

Regardless we all collect anything to get the fun of childhood back, relive a memory, or just cause the thing is to damn cute. Every "Funatic" collector here has the same purpose, to talk Funko. We are all the same in that respect. No one collector is more important then another here. Whether you just have a few POP!s, or have over 2000 Funko items in all the different types.

People, as well as Life, like to categorize things and people. Don't let it bother you and just enjoy what and how you collect your Funko.

Yeaaaaahhhhhhh.... It wasn't me that said that... I'm the one that said that there are collectors who collect whatever they want but not just because they are from a specific movie, TV show, etc. who aren't into chases, LE, etc...
