Which do/would you prefer

Hey!

So, as there is over 300 Pops! Available and literally about forty new ones we know about which are coming soon the question is...

If you do not have them all yet, do you prefer playing catch up and buying them at random or would you prefer to be like Carol who has bought them series by series since day one so she can keep upto date alot easier?

I would prefer to be like Carol, wish we knew about Pops! From day one so we had no problem with any new series or exclusives but knowing we need so many and for every one we buy another two new ones are released, its crazy!

What would you prefer?

Cherry pick all the way! Saves space and money. I don't like all the licenses, so I would have a hard time justifying getting them all.

So, this is a completist question? I've caught up on 99% of what I want to collect. I will never be into the horror genre, Kiss or Hello Kitty. So I don't own them. I'll gladly break the bank for five Sheldon's, The Muppets, Game of Thrones and all things Disney.

Certain series I don't care about, but I think I went over the top on some and collected entire series when I only wanted one or two. I'm thinking about cutting my collection back and being more selective. Mainly because I really need to save for my trip overseas, can't keep spending like I have been!

Trying not to be a super completist so I just trying buying the ones I like and love

I have no interest in Basketball players, Plants vs. Zombies, Hello Kitty, Sanrio, Yo Gabba Gabba and a few other random pieces like the Hip Hop artists or the Sheldons. I see no need to spend money on ones I have no interest in, I would rather use the money on chases and exclusives like the flocked Gizmo.

BOOM! This. I don't have the money to buy everything. Knowing which pieces I like and buying those as soon as they are released works for me.

i'm confused by the question...

would i rather play catch up, or buy them all when they came out?

that's like... do i want unlimited income, or would i rather be forced to budget my money.

obviously i'd rather buy everything as soon as it came out. i think even the people who collect a certain series would say the same thing about that particular series. ideally, we would all be able to buy every pop as soon as it was released. but money gets in the way.

i don't think it's a question of preference. it's more a question of financial ability. some people here have more than others. there are board members who can afford to buy everything immediately and pick up 5 rare things from todd's sale. there are others here who have really stretched in order to buy 10 pops.

but regardless of who you ask... i can't imagine anyone would say that they WANT to play catch up. we'd all like to be able to get anything we want when we want it.

I think I would have liked to start from the beginning for several reasons.

1. Starting later in the game, my bf & I have or had a really hard time finding older POPs like Penguin, Riddler, Jam Master Jay, Elvis, etc. We sometimes had to resort to paying higher than normal prices which stung a little but it was something we wanted/had to do for our collection.

2. Being the completists that we are, starting the collection about 150-200 POP into it was hard on our bank accounts, especially when we have little to no control to the extremely adorable faces of all the POP figurines. [I mean they just beg for us to take them home]

3. Our area seem to be a hot area with lots of collectors which means added competitions when looking for Chases or hard to find items. Looking back on the forum from 2010 and 2011 it seemed like nearly everywhere a POP collector went a chase or rare item was found!! That almost never happens anymore, at least in my area.

It would be nice to buy what I like slowley without worrying if something is going to be retired.
