To collect or not to collect

Postby Squird » Fri Sep 07, 2012 5:39 pm

I'm sitting here waiting on some files to print and looking hard at the V for Vendetta Freddy Pop proto that's staring back at me across the desk.

I really like this little proto.

Come to think of it, I really like all of the Freddy Pop protos.

Some of them, way better than their painted counterparts. Now I'm trying to decide which ones I should try and track down.

Damn. I thought I was happy with what I have.

If only those files had printed faster.

I'm kind of trying to avoid getting them all...so I'm hoping that if I only get the few that I really, really, really like, I'll be okay.

Is this how it started for you, Craig?

I'll collect just about anything that's a wacky wobbler and the protos. Don't go for many color variations of the same wobblers. Still managing to steer clear of Pop! Except for Freddy's.

I figure I'll just take my time, save my toy money and make the most of the opportunities that present themselves along the way.

To collect or not to collect

I think it's going to be difficult especially if you think of all the new stuff that's coming out. It's tough to keep up. Once you fall behind you usually end up spending more money on something you could've gotten much cheaper if you didnt wait. I've realized collecting these pieces means you have to have some deep pockets. That's y I try not to buy everything!!! Key word is TRY

Well, I'm not going after all the Pop protos, just the Freddies.

So far, only 17. (Like I'll ever get the 00 Freddy Proto)

Those Freddy pop protos are torturing me as well. I'm kind of surprised they've been available as long as they have...maybe they're waiting patiently for me to buy them?

The 00 Freddy pop proto is on my "must have it" list...I have a feeling that will be going for big bucks when they turn up for sale.

Does anyone have a 00 Freddy proto? If you don't have one you know it's hard to find Freddy piece.

That is what I have done for the past 7 years or so. I could not afford to drop $500 on Freddy pieces (when the wacky wobblers were fetching that price on ebay) back then so I just sat back and waited for opportunities to come my way. I still do not have everything I have ever wanted for my Funko Toy Room, but I have managed to get a lot of the pieces I wanted for much, much less than I ever thought I would have had to pay................IMHO, you are on the right track Stephe ;-)
