Finding chases in the wild

Postby hikanteki » Tue Jul 31, 2012 11:42 pm

How long did it take you to find your first chase in the wild/for list price?
And, where did you find it at? (I'm curious to know if anyone found one at somewhere other than B&N or Target because at specialty stores the employees might find it before putting them out and mark it up already.)
David here. Pleased to meet you! =)

I wasn't collecting yet but ordered a Alice in wonderland wobbler for my hubby last month from amazon. It was reg price but when I gave it to him he told me it was a chase. I'm hoping that I can find a pop chase sometime soon. That would be really cool.

My very first trip to Toronto exclusively for pop I found a chase batman and Kiss Demon. 9.99 at futureshop and 14.99 at a comic store. Then a month or so after I found another chase batman but the box was crushed so I passed it by. Fast forward another month or so and I found a factory error chase batman for 9.99 at a local comic store. Then at a different comic store I found Wonder Woman and Batman, both marked up to 39.99 so I passed on them. Speed up til today and I just found a chase Robin in a best buy for 9.99.

Guess luck has favored me and Toronto is totally a great place for chases.

1 month in. I found a Robin Chase and didn't know what the difference was for like 10 minutes. And it started rolling after that. But it has dried up lately.

Finding chases in the wild

Postby JoshRJV77 » Wed Aug 01, 2012 12:57 am

Much like James things seem to have dried up lately! But my first chase was found a couple months in, at one HMV one day I found 4 chase, Batman, KISS catman, KISS spaceman, and 70s Elvis! Then a couple days after at another HMV I found a KISS demon, superman, and batman chase! And I believe it was the same day or the next I found another superman chase!
Have a Funko-tastic day!! :)

I've been "officially" collecting for 5 months and have still yet to come across one in the wild. I've been offered 3 through a friend that owns a comic shop, but was only able to purchase one of them (Superman). We need a new series to offer Chases to spring some life in the hunt again. It'd be FANTASTIC if the new Marvel series had some chases to offer!

Keep your head up bud! You're bound to find one, just keep checking in the stores, searching through all of the boxes, calling to other stores like Hot Topic, B&N, and local comic stores. Ask them when their shipments come in and try and go in on those days. I'm trying to see if some of the stores I visit frequently will notify me of their shipment days and maybe I'll get lucky! Good luck, hope we find some chases! lol

I'll probably never find any here in my area.I can barely find any stores that carry Pops in the first place, unless I travel about an hour away in two different directions and go to a Barnes & Noble or Disney Store.I hope to one day find one,and I hope it's a Gene Simmons Kiss Chase, because that's the #1 Chase I wanna get, followed by The Flash & Superman.

Finding chases in the wild

Postby cliffd64 » Wed Aug 01, 2012 7:17 am

Most of the chases in the wild that I found were wobbler chases and Funko Force chases.

The wobbler chases mainly came from Target... The Funko Force chases were found at a small comic shop...

Haven't had the pleasure of locating Pop chases in the wild yet.

I forgot to add that was in Australia too so you stand a good chance of finding one yourself.
Good luck!

When I started collecting I went out and searched for a Chase (back in December/January) I went to a local B&N and found 2 Riddler Chases side by side... Stupidly bought 1 and left the other. After I got home and realized that was a terrible mistake I went back a few days later and somehow got the other one. A few weeks later went to our Books and Company (Books a Million affiliate) and found Kiss Catman Chase. Since then (And the popularity of Pops increasing) I haven't found any in the wild at all.
