I had a chance to grab up Peter Dinklage and run off with him at SDCC.

Me and a friend were sitting in the hallway at one of the hotels, catching our breath from the con, when a security guy asked us to stand up. No biggie, we were loitering, so all's fair....

Anyway, we stand up and he puts his arms out to cordon us off. We're a little confused because we each have about 8 inches and 100+ pounds on the guy, and the idea of him stopping us from doing anything we wanted to do is pretty ridiculous. Also, the three of us are the ONLY people in the hallway. One guard. Two of us.

We're about to push past him and leave when he stiffens up and announces 'Clear!' into his headset. That's when the cast of Game of Thrones blows by with even more security. My friend and I are laughing at the guard now, because there's now three people keeping a pair of slackers in check. So we sat back down and waved as they rolled by.

Afterwards we agreed that had we wanted to, there was nothing really stopping us from stealing Dinklage.

The third book has a chapter (well.chapters) that me and my friends refer to as "the most." That book is epic but wait until book five. Book four doesn't have my three favorite characters.

Book 3 was really good. I was ready to quit the series about half way through book 2. There was too much:

"..and Lord Peckerwood stood at the base of the wooden stairs, wearing a mesh tank top and pink hot pants, the traditional garb of of his house, over a coat of boiled leather and mail. His page, Gilda, bore his standard, a gilded truffle stitched in pink saffron on a field of titanium white surrounded by a phalanx of happy little trees. He wore his hair in a bun, run through with green and white pixie sticks.

The wind blew threw the trees.

'Yo' he said lazily.

END OF CHAPTER.

I think he could have cut about 300 pages a book if his editor had any stones.

I love going back through old threads and seeing what ideas and wish list people made from years ago and now the lines they wanted are huge and popular now.

Game of Thrones is a great pop line and I can't wait for Season 8 to come out this year. The last 2 years waiting have been gruesome.
