Rare Silver Metallic Batman OR...

a perfect example of how metallic paint can fade in the sunlight. I know many of the wobbler collectors are familiar with this issue, but the newer Pop collectors might be unaware of what can happen. This is a SDCC metallic blue Batman that's been displayed on my daughters' shelves. It gets some sunlight on it, but it's not in direct daylight for very long each day. You can clearly see how much of the blue has faded to silver. I don't know why the cape hasn't faded as much as the head. Just a warning for those who display these.

Well, yes, I do know why the cape hasn't faded as much and that's because it's facing away from the light source. I'm not sure why the back of his head has faded as much as it has though.

It does look pretty cool. I'm waiting for it to fade evenly so I can Ebay it for huge bucks. lol

I would imagine that it would probably be worse for the non-metallic POP. It would be a particular shame for the Disney pops, since the colouring is a major part of the design appeal.

Some can look cooler faded out like that, but not all. I've sold almost all of my metallic pieces so I don't worry about it anymore.

so fading really isnt an issue for regular pops? lets say if i wanted to put one on my dashboard of my car

I don't know about Pop!s, but I've had a mini LTJ wobbler on my dashboard for years and it hasn't faded. I've had to replace the sticky pad 3 times (damn the Florida sun!) but the wobbler itself is great.

My guess....
POP heads are hollow, therefore the inside warms in the sun. The back of the head has faded from the heat. The cape hadn't faded because the body is solid, less heat transfer.

Maybe????
