I blame the honey!
But back to the OP. IMO, I'm sure they don't just pick characters out of random. Sometimes it's looking at trends.
So far for each and every Disney series has a Fab five member, Pixar characters, a main villain, and a Princess. So sooner or later the other popular characters are bound to show up, like Pluto, Eeyore, Chip and Dale, Ratouielle, Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine, Jafar, Queen of Hearts, etc... it's just a matter of when.
And some people scratch their heads when they see Snowth and Mahna Mahna in the Muppets series, when Beaker and Dr. Bunson are more popular characters, but you have to keep everybody interested in a series not just the first one, so put them in the next batch with the Swedish Chef, Scooter and Sam the Eagle (hypothetically of course).
So will we see the Scarecrow, Tin Man and the Lion? I think that depends on how well the first set sold. But I think Funko is expanding to cover a huge range of taste, from old movies like Grease to NBA characters, its just cuz they just sell. I'm sure one day, if they get the license, we will see Lady Gaga and Harry Potter Pops!
In the end, Funko really hit a home run with the Pops! Now if they only make Back to the Future Pops.... or a time machine so I can go get a regular Sulley and Mike!
