Funko's newest line: Nodniks

Postby FFJim » Mon Feb 02, 2009 3:00 pm

Funko President Brian Mariotti reports, "Funko is proud to present a new line of cool Wacky Wobblers: Nodniks. Nodniks are a Mini 3.75" Wobblers with an Urban Art feel. The Nodniks use two distinct style body types for all figures. Add-on pieces are used for certain characters such as hats, antennas etc. All Nodniks have movable arms as well. Nodniks will come as a 2 Pack in a carded blister that has the ability to hang or stand on a shelf. The Nodniks will begin reaching stores near you in April. Keep on the lookout for limited edition runs of some of you favorite Funko characters as well; like Bone Daddy, El Diablo, Carlos and many more."

It's like Mighty Muggs meets Funko, pretty cool! I can't wait to see the final products.

Kind of my take as well. They should prove popular with the MM fans, I would imagine.

They should look great on store racks, very appealing. Brian, do a Doctor Who line!!!

Accessorize with Enterprise bridge play set, TARDIS play set, Oval Office play set, Bedrock play set, etc.

Very interesting! I will wait to see them in person first. Sometimes an artist rendering does not do the final product justice.

Looking forward to seeing them Brian....especially those SLEESTAK Nodniks!

Here's a question about the packaging...

Will we be able to take the Nodniks out of the packaging without destroying the packaging.

Nodniks in Blank White would be cool - a blank slate for us to create custom Nodniks characters.

That's my point, there is not much to them to make an actual figure...it is not impossible, but it would be much easier to make a Pakuni ;-)

A crystal-clear Nodniks with sparkly glitter inside the clear mixture would work.

I hope these do well for funko but I doubt I will be picking up any. I am not into the platform toys like I used to be and these look too much like every other platform toy out there, especially Mighty Muggs, which I have never liked. Maybe 4 or 5 years ago, before Kidrobot started Dunnys, or toy2r started qees, but now, I just feel this style is past its time. I like some of the stylized vinyl figure funko is getting into but these do not appeal to me at all.

I hope Funko does not subject Freddy to this mold.
