Fundays pop preferences - low LE or low LE variants?
It seems like there's a couple different ways Fundays pops go -
Years past, I saw different variations of the same pops, with different LE numbers for those pops. First that comes to mind for me (so much drama!) was the 2023 Captain America Freddy. 2 molds - Metallic with a lower LE (kind of) and the regular edition.
More recently it seems like we're getting some really low LE pops, but no more common variation - 2026 Captain America Freddy, Captain Carter Franny, etc.
Personally, I liked it when there was a more common variation of the pops, it seemed like trading for those was more wide spread at Fundays. I enjoyed wandering the event, chatting with Funatics, making trades for lines we collected. I would've loved any of the Marvel pops from the 2026 Fundays, but at that low of an LE, little to no trading is happening unless you also got a lucky BoF.
Just wondering everyone's thoughts on these very different Freddy/Franny/Proto Fundays trends?

I enjoy low LE numbers but I would love to see some different characters when it comes to Fundays/Freddy.

Agree. I am getting a little tired of all the variants. Although I do understand that it is more cost effective.

The concept of the variants is cool, but i think they can play a lot more with the same concept, idk why all the low counts are blacklight, maybe for one mold you can make the low count metallic and in another the low count it will be GITD, something like that

Re: Fundays pop preferences - low LE or low LE variants?
I think Low LE figures shouldn't be characters people want to complete a set. Variants of said characters would be fine. So I'd have to prefer LE Variants. An example for this is not with Funko at the moment, but Toy Temple had a Thrilljoy exclusive. The Hero (common) was Stevonnie, whom is important and shows up only a few times in the show. But the Super Chase of 96 is one of the main characters. This baffles me, why would you do this?

Couldn’t agree more. I always loved walking around looking for trades and seeing what everyone got. Camp Fundays was a great example of that. Tons of different LE’s of different Freddy’s from a wide variety of fandoms. Trading was fun and I think most walked away happy. That’s what I would line to see return.

I get that, but I feel like I have 10 of all my favorite characters; I am no longer trying to be complete. If we are going to do variants, let's at least do variants of characters we haven't done past fundays.

There is a cut off for me. if its too limited, i just wont bother. There needs to be a balance of limited availability but also enough that you have a chance of getting it.
I collect all things Game of Thrones and many other POP lines.

low LE is good but it should be a variant that people want. people like metallic or glow. not many people like the black and white / sketch or blacklight. yes the michael myers blacklight last year was and is amazing, but that is the anamoly and not the norm. way too much blacklight this year for the low LEs. plus the raphael should have been switched w the 150 being metallic and the 1050 being non-metallic as the leonardo metallic last year was the lower piece count of his two pops

i personally would prefer only 1 variant of each character. and please no more freddy as captain america. we now are up to 5 freddy's as captain america. and this is coming from someone who loves captain america and freddy's. plenty of other characters they can make

Big fan of the lower LE but fewer variants would be great too. I was able to trade at fundays and get both the 100 and 150 Captain Americas, kinda as a redemption quest after the 2023 funday captain america variants

I agree with this. I'm not a fan of the B&W and I got two of them in my haul this year. Another thing I don't live is getting two different versions of the exact same sculpt in the Box of Fun! I got Regular and B&W Knightfall Batman in my BoF. That was a drag, I like seeing more unique sculpts.

I'm not sure if the online boxes are making this better or worse. At the event, my hopes of getting a Captain America Freddy were almost none. Now that I'm seeing him pop up in the at home boxes, I have hope again. But I'm also frustrated that he wasn't widely available at the event!
Personally, I'd rather see more popular characters in some form in a slightly higher LE (500, 1000...) and a variant of it (BL, glitter, GITD) in a lower LE. And then if we have non-variant LE, make it a less popular character so collectors aren't so frustrated.

I really missed the trading atmosphere this year. In years past, the trades were coming fast and furious! LE# mattered less than what we collected. I traded lower LE for higher if it was something I wanted, and vice versa! I think the lack of tables hindered us for trading purposes this year, I'd like to think trading would've happened post-show if we had somewhere to set up.

Low LE variant makes it less likely I'd be pining for it so long as I've got the mold. 2023 Captain America Freddy vs metallic comes to mind. Takes the sting off a bit I suppose if you don't get the really limited one.

If you don't get him in one of your boxes (I've opened 2 and no luck so far), he probably won't be too much on the secondary market... Yeah, I was pretty happy with the licenses in my box. Matrix, BTTF, and Batman Who Laughs. Plus the Exit bag wasn't too bad for me either. Now I want a Raph though :/

LE’s never really bothered me.
I am a fairly decent Captain Carter fan. Sad that I probably won’t be able to obtain the LE 50 Franny cpt. Carter easily. It was a really random pairing but that’s just the luck of the draw

The Freddy Captain America pop from this year annoyed me so much! It is my most wanted of the year, and the only Cap Freddys at Fundays were the super low LEs. And then the at home boxes, which I didn't purchase this year, had a regular Cap Freddy.
My perfect world, just using Cap Freddy as an example, would've been a 500-1000 regular pop, and then maybe some lower LE of that same pop in the Fundays boxes. As long as I walk away with a regular version of the pop, I can deal with not getting a super low LE version of the same pop.

My fundays box was a personally frustrating for me. 2 Batman Freddys (I don't collect Batman), and the glitter Gaston (as soon as I saw that pop leak, I knew I'd get him!). Traded Gaston for the Freddy James T. Kirk at least. And then my exit bag ended me up with 2 of the same Godzilla Freddys. But it was redeemed by giving me a Raph, at least!

A lot of the Freddy/Frannys this year seemed pretty mixed! Like...what's up with Translucent James T. Kirk Freddy? But no regular? Now I just have to study social media for potential trades!
Seriously, this is the first time in FOREVER. Can't believe I didn't see you as I wandered Fundays looking for potential trades. Heard you found my group after I'd made a run for the Hall H line though - so it's 7 degrees of Funko Funatics at least!

Yeah, regular James T. Kirk was in the online box.
For reals! We even normally see each other IN PASSING around the con, and it did not happen at all!

I really hope for next year they have low LE in my opinion there’s no reason why they need such high mintages for an event. they know exactly how many people are gonna be there.

I really do not like the variants. I know that it is economically easier for Funko to produce low numbers of variants but I would love the unique molds with no variants.
