HAPPY NEW YEAR FUNATICS

I hope the past year was good to you, or at least manageable, and that the coming year brings health and happiness--and maybe a few new pieces of vinyl as well.

Here is my shot at a New Year's Wobbler, Gold Tux Freddy; all dressed up and ready to celebrate.

Talk with you all next year

Welcome to 2026!!

I thought I'd start the year off right and post something on the first Wednesday of the year. I also thought I'd change it up a bit. As some of you know, I downsized my collection in a big way--that was in 2019 (where does the time go?). I sold or gave away more than half of my collection after deciding if I couldn't properly display it in my den (with a few exceptions) it had to go. After 37 years of Army & government life, and all the tough decisions and choices I've had to make, I'm not ashamed to admit that choosing what pieces of vinyl to let go ranked up there in the top 5 hardest things I've ever done ](*,)

Well, I still have all the pictures of everything I ever owned, and I look at them from time-to-time. And I see pieces that I wish I hadn't let go. I've even considered buying a few of them, again, but I wisely choose to just breath--and let it go [-o< Whenever I post in this thread, except on rare occasion, I only post what I currently own. Well, this year I'm going to post pics of things I once owned and miss almost enough to buy again. This way I can share wobblers that don't get seen as often.

First up are the Zombie Lounge characters, a Funko original. These were great characters. Two of them even got made into SDCC exclusives. Nick and Phil came out in 2006 and Lou and Big Bad Wolf came out in 2007. Interestingly, when Brian introduced the release of the second two, he called the wolf, Mr. Howl. I actually still own the Big Bad Wolf.

Another bit of trivia is that the body of all the characters is actually re-used from the Smart Alex advertising Wobbler. (Maybe I'll post those pieces next). Wobble on!

Happy New Year!! Awesome shares, Scotty! That gold tux Freddy is absolutely stunning and truly feels like the perfect Freddy to ring in the new year with. It’s one of those pieces that immediately stands out and captures the spirit of a fresh start. I still need to hunt that one down for my own collection, definitely a must-have! \:D/

I can totally understand how difficult it must be to part with pieces from a collection, especially when each one holds its own story and significance. I’m genuinely grateful for the pieces I’ve been fortunate enough to acquire from you, they’re pieces I truly cherish. I also find myself revisiting your “trimming the collection” board thread from time to time because your collection is not only incredible, but also so thoughtfully organized. The way present everything really speaks to the passion you have for the hobby. Your collection has been a huge source of inspiration for me, both now and over the past few years. And on top of all that, thank you so much for your service in the Army, it is appreciated for sure!!

Those Zombie Lounge Character Wobblers are incredibly cool and unique as well. I’ve always been a big fan of them, they have such a distinct style and personality. The SDCC exclusives in particular are amazing, and the metallic suits on each of them are absolutely iconic. They’re truly standout pieces!

I’ll go ahead and share my 2006 SDCC Exclusive Black Metallic Tux Freddy Wobbler (limited to 48 pieces) as a slightly late Wobbler Wednesday/New Year’s post for the week, since things have been pretty busy on my end lately. I picked this Freddy up on eBay a few years back, out of box. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have the convention sticker, but it’s still a piece I’m incredibly proud to own and one that holds a special place in my collection. As always don't forget to smile! ;-)

Oops. A day late.

Wacky Wisecracks! I loved these things. These mini-Wobblers were so much fun.

Image

This is Tate's picture from his collection (SpaceDude) which he posted in this thread last year ( I LOVE THIS PHOTO--so jelly of this)

Image

As you can see there were two series and most of the pieces had more than one saying on their bases. They are from 2003 and they produced between 1,500 and 4,000 of these little guys (not sure why different ones had such different production runs).

Funko produced two special editions, the GAMMA Trade Show version (LE 480)...

Image

...and the NY International Toy Fair version (LE 480).

Image

Sure do wish I still had these. I know where they are too; not far from here. I can actually go visit them if i want. lol

Hey all, bit late on the Wednesday post as well! Sorry about that 8-[ For this week, I want to share a prototype I could of only dreamed of owning when I first started collecting, a Rat Fink Wobbler Prototype that is numbered and signed! What makes this piece unique is the fact that it's flocked as well! Rat Fink is one of those iconic characters representing hot rod enthusiasts! What makes this so special though is the fact that it was gifted by my parents for Christmas and I am beyond thankful! :santa: I hope you all have a great weekend! Don't forget to smile!! :thumbleft:
