Re: What are the coins for? Where can I get more info?
The series coins don’t do anything. They are just randomly inserted and are a cool little extra nft. At least for now that is, who knows if that might change later but I doubt it. They should make those into redeemable coins, that would be cool to have a physical coin for each of the series.
If you mean the token coins, then those are for the redemptions. You redeem them and then that’s how you get the physical pops sent to you at a later time.

I wish they did something but it’s more of a way to complete a set I think

Just something collect/ hold on to for now. I don't think they've had any uses at the moment but you never know with funko they could make them useful for something in the future. I know people do collect multiple of the coins from all the drops.

Re: What are the coins for? Where can I get more info?
Originally the coins were inserted in every single pack. The reason for that was because they did not have the ability to randomly insert the 1 of 1 cards as an extra without every pack having an extra of some kind. So, they created the coins and every pack had a coin unless it was lucky enough to have a 1:1.
Once the releases moved to Droppp, they were able to randomly insert the 1 of 1s without needing to put a coin in every pack. At that point, they decided to keep doing them but make them random. They are still extra when they are in a pack, but they don't have to be in every pack.

I was originally thinking the Ultra would be a physical form of the coins. Some of the coin designs are really neat and I would love for physical versions of them in the future.

Would be cool if they had some kinda redemption program for them. Not specifically for physicals but just some kind of utility

Yeah, they really need to add some utility to the coins. And to the NFTs after redemption for that matter.

Yeah, these coins are a nice added bonus, but would have been cool had they been meant for something more.

Ya they could definitely do something like different tiers for different prizes depending how mamy you trade in. Even if it was for digital prizes and a few higher tier physicals would be neat.

It would be cool if you could take, say 10 series coins, and redeem them for some kind of Funko NFT coin. Then they wouldn't have to make coins for every drop. Just 1 generic coin that we would be able to have.

Series coins are just an extra fun collectable from each set.
I was thinking of putting them through the 3d printer and giving them out at fundays if I go and if it's allowed. I think they would look pretty cool.

That would be dope to see, make one for every single drop? Is it pricey to do?

The filament material isn't that exspensive especially if I made it silver dollar size. It would be really cool if it was done with metal. But some of the filaments come in shiny chrome, silver, gold, ect. For every drop would be cool, so far I'm loving the Back To The Future one.

I really wanted a physical coing of the WB Horror coin with Pennywise face on it! They should really start doing that.

Shoot, make some prototype see how they go. I have seen people print out the cards and make them metal which is dope but the series coins havent popped up

Re: What are the coins for? Where can I get more info?
There has been some discussion that they'll eventually be used for something. What that is, who knows. Maybe a different type of redeemable. Maybe on future series drops (i.e. Series 3 can use coins from Series 1 and 2). But I think Droppp is trying to figure that out.

I'm going to get some materials and try it out, I'll let you know how it turns out once I do it.

They don't do anything. There's rumors there might be some use for them later but we won't know until it happens

I really hope something ends up being done with the series coins. I love the design and effort that has been put into them and love collecting them. But to know theyre essentially worthless is a bit of a bummer

I buy the coins from the series I collect. I was trying to do a coin for every series but figured why buy something that goes to a series I'm not interested in (JMO)

Re: What are the coins for? Where can I get more info?
The series coins should be a redeemable for the extra pops that didn’t get pulled. Because they don’t get “burned” since nft pops have shown up at that bullhead or bullseyes selling event they do.
Give people who get a series coin a chance to get a pop after the redeemed ones get sent out.

Just recently they did a giveaway where you got an entry for holding the MLP series 1 coin. I really hope they do more giveaways like this - it probably doesn't cost them that much to give away a few packs but meanwhile the value of the coins goes up a bit with people wanting to get more entries!

What would be really cool is maybe if you have the coin for series 1, it provides you with something for series 2. Another legendary, or maybe an opportunity to win a lottery for the Mythic pack or something.

That's not a bad idea. Or even better, if you have a Series 1 coin, it lets you into a separate, early access release for Series 2 with a separate pool of packs to purchase from. Just a token of appreciation for being a buyer of the first series would be nice

Yeah, I like that. A limited pack drop for coin holders would be great, especially to help with getting a Mythic pack.

Yup, even if it increases your odds from 0.00000001% to 0.00000002% to get a mythic, I'll take it!

Series Coins are just for collecting, I had them all except Bob Ross. Personally, I would love if Funko actually made real coins or pins for them

Or a pin would be nice or way to recycle them digitally maybe? Like turn in 5 different series coins, and get a pack from the latest drop or something?

For now, they're only an extra digital collectible to go along with the "cards" in each drop. I do enjoy seeing what designs they come up with for each series, especially when they start getting into subsequent series after the initial one.

Ah too bad they are not physical. It would be cool to collect them in a like a pressed penny book.
