10” Dobby and Bailisk

My wife collects HP so we've been tracking these down. Got Basilisk and Tom this weekend and then today I found Dobby on my lunch break. Glad to get them all for her without too much issue! My only point of contention is they limited to only one mystery mini (defeats the purpose of minis imo )

Literally only once have I run into a story only selling one at a time. Thankfully they let me pick which one I wanted (you know my lucky one). I didnt pick the lucky one HA

I think I hit a few targets that day and I was surprised to run into it. I have read about that policy in other states, but not here. Either way, it was okay. I didn't mind.

I know there are quite a few collectors in my area, since I've waited with my fair share and also see others hunting Pop!s when I am. But as far as I know, there are no local groups. I check Brickseek every couple of hours, though. Haven't seen anything pop up.

I know when the Incredibles and Owen with Blue started dropping, I checked constantly, and finally found a store with stock, but they said they were gone at opening (Brickseek showed in-stock up until almost 5 PM, though, which I'm guessing is when maybe the department manager or something went home). The other Target which is about 20 minutes away, never showed in stock. I stopped checking when I finally found them on eBay for $20, and went that route.

I went on the search this morning for Sepia Tom Riddle and found that some of the Targets are saying that the street date for the 3 Harry Potter Exclusives isn’t until 7/8. One store couldn’t find the one Pop and the other told me how there is a new rule that they cannot sell them until the street date, and the third store was selling them so I was able to get one. I wish Target was consistent on this rule. One store back when they were getting in the 10” Thanos told everyone that it wasn’t being sold until a specific date (like a week later) and then turns around and sold theirs the very next day, which was not the date the store manager had told people it would be. If you are going to have a release date all stores should follow it, not pick and choose to follow rules. It is very frustrating when you just want one and the scalpers are grabbing them up to sell.

Managed to snag Sepia Tom last Thursday - showed in stock on Brickseek, so off I went to get him. They pulled him from the back for me, super helpful, really much appreciated. Fast forward today when a friend and I are hunting minis, and I'm hunting another basilisk and Sepia Tom for an out of state friend. Go to the same friendly, helpful Target, where everything is still showing in stock. Ask electronics, since nothing is out, and am told that from now on they're not retrieving Funko from the back anymore. Say what now?? Also told the 7/8 date. Thanked them and walked away instead of going "SERIOUSLY???" Weirdest experience I've had at Target in awhile, and I've gotten a lot of run-around from Target lately...

Someone on facebook said that the date they show in their system is not a street date, but a set by date, meaning that when there is space on the shelves, they have to put the items out by at least that date. I don't know if that is true or not. We would need a Target employee to verify.

I've heard similar things about set dates and street dates. I have no complaint about these dates, I just wish Target would either have a firm policy, or let it be a lucky find kind of thing. It would save us all a lot of frustration!

We got Tom Riddle today and on Brickseek said that the 10" Jurassic Park was in our area but by the time I saw it and went to Target they were gone and the one that said it was still there said they won't release it till the street date of 7/8!! Those Dinos were released in CA a week or so ago I think.

I got the same release date from one of the Targets I went to about all three Harry Potter exclusives. Apparently 7/8 is the date for everything . My friend went to one and got a Tom Riddle. He said they had the 10”Dino in stock and that they had 9 with 5 people waiting for them.

I had my aunt check there yesterday for the Basilisk since Brickseek said they had "limited stock" but he looked up the DPCI on his handheld thing and said they didn't have any in stock. I went there today myself because they said the T-Rex was "in stock" and asked the guy if they had Basilisk too and he said no, they were supposed to have it and the 10 inch Dobby and Scrooge but he doesn't know why they don't have them yet, but other stores do and he thinks maybe they sent their truck to another store I just hope the Basilisk shows up at the closer Target instead :p

That explanation would make the most sense, because with movies and cds, if you try to buy something that was put out before the RELEASE date, the registers will literally not let the item ring up it up and a manager has to override it.

Don't count yourself out yet. Use the target item finder website and check your local stores. A lot of stores seem to be holding the inventory for a certain street date. I wouldn't give up just yet.

I was able to get both last week. I was 3rd in line at the Target in Eastvale and they only recieved 3 basilisk and 4 Dobbys, but went the following day to Fontana, again 3rd in line and able to score both one for my mom and one for a fellow funatic who has helped me before.

Did you check in the morning on brickseek and thats how you knew to go there?

Yes I did. I work night shift and then just go get in line when I get off at 0730.
