Interest in Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus Pop!s?
Would any Funatics be interested in a PJ/HoO line? I just finished the Blood of Olympus and I think we need a PJ line. I think the Pops should be based based from the book descriptions and not from the movies. The first wave should just be "The Seven". Would you be interested in this line? Any suggestions for variants or characters in later waves?

There isn't much interest in the movies so I doubt the pops would sell well

Exactly. I did enjoy the first film! 2nd film kinda flopped.

I, too, don't think Percy Jackson would do well. I'd rather see some Greek gods and monsters in a Ray Harryhausen Pop! line, or even a straight up Pop! Myths and Legends line that's not based on any particular license. Let the designers loose to make their own versions of classic myths like the Lego mini figure designers can do.

The movies were awful, but the characters were still designed well (at least for the second movie). If they did book designs, though, using the official artwork, that would probably be better. I'd be all over them.
Too soon?

Only if it was based on the books. Love the books, despise the movies.

Agree, the books were good, movies a disappointment. The mythical creatures/gods in PJ pretty much match the description that most of these characters have in other books/movies. If they did a generic line of characters they wouldn't have to go through any licencing hassles, unless it's with Zeus.

I actually liked the movies well enough, but I doubt there will be more.. they would probably do one more to finish up the cliffhanger from the 2nd if anything but yeah, they'd have to do them for the books if anything and it doesn't seem like the book line in general is given much attention.

I'd be very interested in them if the figures were based off the books...but not the movies.

I think the Book line needs more attention, so a PJ line (strictly from the books) might attract book readers. It wouldn't do the best, but the books do have a following.

Nope, none.
I can see them doing better in Books rather than Movies, but even then 1 or 2 to test the waters so to speak would be a good idea.

I would be much more interested in a 'Myths and Legends' line than any Percy Jackson Pops!, I just wasn't a massive fan of the movies - even as someone who has a slight obsession with Greek mythology. If they did release a Percy Jackson range, I would probably only pick up one or two maximum, depending on the appearance and the characters selected, I probably wouldn't be overly fussed on them - but a 'Myths and Legends' line would be amazing

Sad. I don't think Funko would touch this line. The movies didn't do well. I love all the books, even the Kane Chronicles and the two movies. Also, there was too much dispute of what the characters should look like. Annabeth had brown hair in the first movie, but blonde in the books. They made her blonde in the 2nd movie. And of course the typical outrage about a person being black. Grover is white in Rasta clothing in the books, but black in the two movies. It won't happen.

problem is that Rick Riordan sold the rights so it would be up to the license holder which is the movie studio.

As fun as that would be, I don't think they would sell remotely well enough to get made.

I've read the Percy Jackson books, and really liked them. That being said, I'd prefer if they did Greek Gods through God of War. And a Dairy Bastard Pop. Yeah.

The books are extremely popular and have spawned the Kane Chronicles and even a Norse version so I think the Pops would sell pretty well. I've been reading the books forever and own all of the Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus books. I think Pops of the Seven and variants would be great. Then for the lesser known maybe some groups of mystery minis it would be awesome.

There might be enough people who collect and read the books that it could be plausible, but very unlikely. I think the movies might have made the series less popular sadly. Because those books are amazing, and I really love everything Rick Riordan touches (Magnus Chase is so good too). I wish we could get a line for each of his book series, I just know that they wouldn't sell as well. If we are lucky and they do one, I would seriously buy every single Pop! that would be released. Especially Nico.

Same here with me I enjoyed the movies, but like someone mentioned earlier these could be made in the Myth and Monsters line.

I agree I know the movies flopped but I think the books have enough of a following to do something with. It has been popular enough to have spinoffs. I have read all of rick riordan books and would love at least Percy Annabeth and Grover. Realistically just don’t think it will happen

The movies were ok. If Funko got the licenses for next to nothing, it's possible they would put out some figures.

Millions of books in all the series were sold. If even 5% of those book buyers bought say a Percey the line would be considered very successful.

Re: Interest in Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus Pop!s?
Whereas I do love Pops! of various lines, the movies in my opinion were absolutely awful. Would definitely limit my interest, although there appears to be a bit of a niche following. General "Myths and Legends" would be my preference...or maybe even a line based off the old "Clash of the Titans" line of movies (especially Medusa, maybe Poseiden releasing the Kraken). I think that line would have more broad-based, nostalgic, cultish, and commercial appeal than a lot of the Percy Jackson stuff. All that being said, Funko is quite creative and has a knack for making characters and lines that are desirable and adorable--even many that lots of people previously thought would be undesirable. I like the Percy Jackson concept, but the movies were a big turn off for me personally. That line would not likely hold much interest for me.

Re: Interest in Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus Pop!s?
It would be difficult to get these done based on the books. The interpretation of a characters look is up to the reader(despite official art), so this would really skew things. This is why we will never see a Peeves(Potter) pop.
The movies them selves were a travesty. I won't lie, the first movie got me to read the books, but I couldn't appreciate the second movie at all. The way they messed with the prophecy realy tore me up.

Books are fantastic, although lacking, the movies...ugh.
That said, I'd much prefer generic Greek and Roman mythology in pop form, even if they are slightly reimagined through Funko original characters.
