Pops that light up and or have sound chips. Views?

I've seen a number of light up customs and they generally look great, so I wouldn't be opposed to this... or it can just stay with the talented people with the skills to make such cool modifications.
I'm not sold on the sound though. The talking Snowball is cool, but these chips aren't usually built with longevity in mind.

Yeah, Tres makes some great ones! They seem like a lot of work though, so IDK if Funko would go through the lengths to do them.

Or the added work/materials would make them an undesirable price point, which could create more angst. But I'm always impressed by the ones I've seen in my feeds, so I guess I'm just satisfied to know they're out there even if I can't do or own them myself

For sure, the Funko community is so wishy washy on price points.. a $30 or $40 electronic Pop would probably not sell well in retail.

I would pay a little more for light up pops, like iron man's arc reactor, or even headlights on rides.

If so itd have to be done right, not saying it's a bad idea but it would mean more moving parts and easier to break figures I'm gonna have to lean towards the simplicity of where they're currently at

Talking Pop!s with memorable dialogue would be cool. A few that would be cool in the line:

Jack Nicholson (A Few Good Men) - "You can't handle the truth!"

I feel like they would just mark it up significantly now if they add on light up features...i mean if they mark things up for "flocked" or "glitter"....a light up feature might make the pop cost $20+!! I mean I would still try collecting but it may be pushing my limits of buying vs passing on the collection altogether.

I think having either a sound chip and or light-up feature for a limited edition or special release Pop would sell very well if done once in a while or for a special release. Even with the small added cost . .

I agree that a light up feature would be really cool. Not so fond of a sound though. Just like all the Christmas tree ornaments I don't go around pushing all the buttons . On that note Id love to see a fire breathing Maleficent dragon.

Light up seems to be everyone's choice with desire and cost. I wonder if a sound chip is doable? Though I like the idea of light up or color change a bit more.

Maybe my one inspired idea on this (lol) and everyone's additional input will give the Funko Designers cause to try it.

I can see how some pops would look cool with it lighting up. Like Iron Man, the Maleficent with flames, or clear pops. But pops with sounds chips isn't something I'd want.

I agree with this statement. IMO it would make it too much like an action figuer or "toy" which im not much interested in, on that note tho...

Hmmm. Never thought about sound would work, but good point on R2D2. Maybe the only Pop character that having sound I would like.

Personally I'd prefer them not to, even though some would make more sense. Like light-up lightsabers or eyes, whatever makes them relevant. It's a good idea though, I just like the simplicity of the figures currently.

I could see light up's becoming a thing since they do glow in the dark. I don't think sound chips would be good unless it's not something annoying.

This would be a cool idea! There was a Darth Vader Action figure that was a Celebration 3 exclusive that had voice/ sound box. Press the button and it had 3 or 4 sayings. Having a Pop! figure that could do that would really up the stakes in collecting these!

As an in-box collector, I wouldn’t want either sound or lights. They’d be more expensive and potentially more fragile

not really.. i would still love to see Funko stick on it's originals.. and probably do some exclusives with the features you mentioned

It would be badass if Funko made the pops to light up, but not all the time. It wold make sense for Iron Man to have his eyes light up or pulsar blasts. but not Spider-Man's webbing.

Based on some light up customs I've seen done I think it would be a great idea. Although I'm not sure how much more expensive they would be. Sound chips I'm not sure about still. It almost wouldn't make it a pop for me anymore if it starting talking

I could get on board with the Braveheart soundclip I suppose ...., but that's only cause it's one of my all time favorite movies.
