Re: Are factory error pops worth anything?
I agree with the others on here stating it's more of a product defect. An error, one that holds some kind of value, tends to be widespread such a misused label, symbol etc. Something that a company may want to recall

I think it's just opinion, some people would pay hundreds and other wouldn't want it in their collection.

There are so many issues with the QA I think almost every line has an error of some type. If errors were rare maybe, but there are just too many.

I think paint errors are usually where the money is at. I think missing pieces don’t warrant an increase in value.

I guess there is no way to have it verified that someone just didn't open one a create an error.
Thats what I figured thanks!

I'd say nothing special with that, it's super easy to turn the heads on Pops.

Some are, some aren’t. Just depends if the theme is popular.

Sometimes I wonder if errors or inconsistencies in the name are worth different values. Previously I heard that "Chopper" was spelled "Choper" and there was a spur there. But there isnt really an outlet we can check values in inconsistencies in the pops right?

Re: Are factory error pops worth anything?
Around four years ago, I was browsing the Pops at my Toys R Us (RIP), and picked up the Phantom of the Opera to look at his paint job. And something seemed off about him... I wondered, "Huh? Did Funko make a variant that had white gloves and a cloak?" I scanned the back of the box, and it all became clear: the Phantom of the Opera had Dracula's body! The "white gloves" were Dracula's pale hands, and the cloak was, you guessed it, Dracula's cape. It was only then that I noticed the Dracula medallion around his neck, which should have been a dead giveaway. I had a laugh, put it back down and ended up buying the regular, non-defective version. To this day, though, I kinda wish I had bought the wonky one. Though I'm sure people would have accused me of swapping out the heads! Lol

I got the "Yellow Symbol" Batman 01 and the "Red Dragon" Dany and didn't realize they were factory errors until I started cataloguing my collection.

Re: Are factory error pops worth anything?
A lot of factory errors can be easily copied with POPS, since you can easily open the box and then close the box. So a head swap, or upside down POP is not a big deal. A miss applied paint app might have added value to some, and will definitely be of less value to others.
A true factory error, that would be value would be the release and use of an unproved sculpt or a drastic packaging printing error.

Infinity war Iron Spider comes to mind, have one where the wrist bands are fully gold and another without and the blue is a lighter shade. Pretty cool to me!

Yeah I don't think it has any value, I would prefer one that was not made with a defect. It's not a real error that would be collected.

the value of a pop is to the eye of a beholder, I know people who would pay 100 for a pop that someone else won't pay more then 10

I was surprised to learn the the “Wounded Dr. Malcolm” pop’s original run misspelled his name on the boxes. Malcom vs. Malcolm. White font vs. red font. Seems like the original misspelled white font run would be more desirable.

Re: Are factory error pops worth anything?
An error isn't worth anything unless there is a batch of errors not just missing an arm. But error symbol thats on hundreds or thousands could be worth something. A spelling error on box could have potential.

Honestly I think defects bring the value way down... niw if it glows when it shouldn't or its red instead of yellow I could see an increase but also see a lot of faking most likely.
As Brian Mariotti once said.... Go boxless, it’s more fun!

Me too, I noticed this since the first batches of the Iron Spider has the lighter blue color (as seen on the unboxing video of Ashley and Cameron on Funko's Youtube posted April 13, 2018) while the newer batches that came during and after the Infinity War movie was shown in theaters is the movie accurate darker blue color.
Please post your pics here as I want to compare mine as well, since I have both versions.

Re: Are factory error pops worth anything?
The only one I remember is the Batman chest emblem error. The only reason it was worth anything was because it was something that made sense.
Most errors are just that...errors and they do not have any rhyme or reason.
Personally, I would skip them at all cost unless you build customs

Re: Are factory error pops worth anything?
If it’s a large scale error then sometimes. (See Snaggletooth from the original line of Star Wars toys as a great example. Or Red dragon Daenerys or yellow symbol Batman in the Pop world) If it’s a matter of quality control (missing bits, bad paint....) then not at all, it’s just broken and whoever sold it to you should have caught that and contacted Funko for a replacement/credit/refund or at the very least given you a deal on it.
