in box or out of the box... that is the question
How do you display your pieces? In or out of the box? Ive come to the dilemma that my limited space has pushed some boxes to the back, forever hiding them

Re: in box or out of the box... that is the question
I went against all of my collecting habits and took them out, I saved all the boxes. I only took them out because 1) they look awesome and 2) they could be placed back in the boxes if I want to display them differently in the future

out of the box for me, I needed extra space on the shelves... once I took out my holiday pop for my Xmas decorations at work, I decided the ones at home needed to be out.

99% of mine are stored out of the box as it's more versatile for me that way. I can move around the disolay without carrying a bunch of akward boxes.
the only 1 i have in the box is the chase figure i found and only because if i take him out that means that my collection of 'only' villians is out the window.

i wanted to try out of the box but my girlfriend was against it.. other than a whole alot room... i agree with her to just keep them in the box. POP!'s package really allows you to display them in the box pretty good.

I've currently got mine in the box, but I think given time that might change. I'll probably end up with them all in the box with a loose one in front of it also.

All my POP! are displayed out of the box and I store the boxes in the closet. I do keep one POP! in its box and that is the "A Cloclwork Orange" POP. It is due to Brian signing the box and him writing "6 of 12" on it.
The POP! are so small that I think myself they look better out of the box.
Otherwise all my other Funko is in their boxes

I went and had Santa and Rudolph that I got for $2.46 each but wanted the rest so I could have so cool holiday ones to set out. When the rest arrived my wife told me I could not take them out for decoration during the holidays cause I made a set now
I plan to keep my Disney POP in the box though. With my little ones around they just seem safer that way LOL!

I was just thinking about this too when I saw this thread.
I really like the Disney POP boxes - the artwork is really nice. Unfortunately, a couple of the boxes I got are damaged - some are ripped or dented. Haven't taken any of them out yet, although since the boxes aren't sealed, I suppose you can take out to admire and put them back in when you're done without destroying the box.
I'm keen on keeping them in the box for display, but some of these great displays here really have me considering otherwise - thanks for sharing!

All of my pops are in-box, but it’s gotten to the point where I have way too much to keep them out the box and then save the boxes I would need an extra room
. I would love to have some out of the box thou.

Mine are all oob, don't have the boxes for all of them anymore. Still got the boxes for some of the more valuable ones, but my wife and I have reached the point of liking a lot of releases but only buying the ones that we never intend to sell, from our favourite movies. Its allowed some amazing deals to be found on oob Pops as well, which is always great! Definitely wouldn't have the OG White Ranger or Belle if we were in-box.

Best bit. I'd rather buy them in-box as its oddly enjoyable taking them out of the box, but its great getting a good deal.

in-box. Having nearly all boxes be the same size is the smartest thing funko ever did. I don't think I would be a collector if they weren't.

So much easier to dust when they're in box, and I think they display better...uniform spacing, balance and an overall collector vibe. The clutter starts to set in quickly when Pops get loose and for some reason they just look more like cheap toys IMO.

In box for about 90% of my pops where we have them in their own room haha. The other 10% are displayed in our living room. I do take them out to take pictures though. I'm not so picky about the boxes but my bf is the opposite

I guess I’m an in box collector that takes them out of the box for pictures but then puts them back in the box after. Lol. It’s easier to store and keeps them from getting dusty. Until I can get the right amount of shelves, it’s just easier to stack them on top of each other.

Re: in box or out of the box... that is the question
Out of the box is the best way to honor the figure and it just looks so much cooler, not like a wall of boxes. So much detail goes into the Pops these days, you really don't honor it by leaving it in the box and hiding half of it. In order to honor the box art as well, I like standing them in front of their box when the box art is cool.

Re: in box or out of the box... that is the question
This is really just personal preference. I feel that the pops are way better displayed out of the box I know there are diehard box snobs out there that want to preserve the toy and the box condition and display inside the box.
I have my collection about half in and half out of the box. The choice is really up to the collector.
