I'm not a fan of any of them but at least the rose and stitch pops make sense. The SW ones are just cash grabs.

Re: Domed Pops
I truly did not like them or want anything to do with them....until that Experiment 626. That one to me is like a movie moments box set. If the domes can make sense (or actually contain a POP
) then I think I can appreciate them.

Re: Domed Pops
626 looks amazing, but I just can't get behind the dome look. They take up to much room and I'd have to leave it in the box if I wanted to stack stuff on it. The rose I still don't understand, I get that, that's what it looks like in the movie but why is it a pop? And almost $30. The rose isn't really a character in BATB, it's more of a symbol. Idk, it could have just been a non specific thing funko made kinda like ricks portal gun.
I bought gold bb8 but regretted it and didn't even bother with r2. So domed pops will remain off my want list :/

I have BB-8 and R2-D2. But less because I think they are rad and more because I am a Star Wars junkie. In general though I can take em or leave em.

Diabetesx03 wrote:Just curious what people think about the Domed Pops like the HT R2D2, BB8, Enchanted Rose and now the BL Experiment 626.
They look cool and I’ve bought them all but they take up a lot of shelf space.
I think of it like Target's 10" POP. When the first one came out, I thought it was awesome, but given the shelf space requirement and that they do seem to want to push out more in the future. I'm definitely going to hold back and be a lot more picky with whatever POPs up in the future.
So for Target, Hulk made the most sense, I honestly would not have grabbed Groot if he was not like the first of the series. Thanos does make sense, but I may now pass. If the rumors around Porg and Scrooge are true I will also pass.
Dome I bought BB-8 because he was first, skipped on R2, got Enchanted Rose. Skipping on 626.
For all collectors at some point, space is the real issue.

You can save a lot of space by going OOB... easily 2-3x as many will fit on the same shelf.

Yea, domed pops should only go with designs that make sense, like the Rose and 626. I think there is an opportunity with the aliens in simpsons and the severed presidential heads from Futurama.

I totally agree on all points. I had R2-D2 but sold it after we went OOB and didn't want to display it due to space. Haven't bought any of the others as it seems like a gimmick that someone at HT is pushing for. The Rose was especially weird since they called it a Pop, but I think that has more to due with tricking people into buying it. Call it a replica like the R&M Portal Gun and not much interest, but slap the Pop on it and magically everyone needs it because they only collect Pop!
The rose isn't the first weird thing to get that distinction though. They already did the GOT Throne and Dr. Who Tardis (although it could kinda qualify as a Ride)

Not a fan, especially for the price point.
I'll take a regular stitch 626 or R2D2/BB8 pop over the domed versions.

I am going to customize mine so that he is just glued to the dome. I think the plastic mounting piece was probably necessary for durability in shipping, but I can’t stand it and I am a huge fan of Stitch so I had to have it. This will be my first attempt at a customization for a Pop. I’m excited about it.
This is the first dome piece I am going to keep. I bought the R2, but it came in broken and I decided to just return it. Have not been too impressed with them overall.

If you have them in a display case like the Detolf, dust is minimal and easier to clean. There really isn't much you can do about dust in or oob, you gotta clean it anyways!

Re: Domed Pops
I like the concept of the domes but not going to personally collect them. At least not for now. The BATB rose was perfect but you can't really count that as a Pop in a dome like the others. The Stitch one is kind of offsetting with the clear stand that's holding him up. Not sure what else Funko would come up with in this line, but I don't see it going very far in popularity.

Cans of condensed air and swiffer dusters are my go-to for cleaning my OOB Pops. I use Ikea Billy bookcases with handmade risers and they get dusty fast, but I'm constantly moving them as I buy new stuff so its easy to keep clean. I envy those with Detolfs but they're more expensive and don't hold as much so a little extra dust is worth having more space for me

I have a question, I just received my Stitch and it came broken off of the plastic piece. The rose was broken as well. Do any of you know how to take the domes off without breaking them? I am thinking of just fixing the stitch and putting the dome back on. Thank you:

Im full on Star Wars so I had to have the BB8 and then the R2, but then the rose and stitch came out so we had to get those too because they are pretty cool. I think the first two were just a fancy way to display the POP, but the rose and stitch actually made use of the "dome" so it made sense. id like to see more like that.

I got BB-8, it came lose in shipping some time and the antenna was broken off by the time I got it. I sword off domed pops at that point. I like the idea of the rose from Beauty & The Beast as it's almost a movie moment, but I'm not a big enough Beauty & The Best fan to use the room for it.

Re: Domed Pops
I'm personally not a fan of the domed ones, though as my wife and I collect Beauty and the Beast that one was necessary, especially for $20 or so and to keep our set complete (as far as different molds go, not fussed about glitter or flocking). Plus it makes total sense, as opposed to the Star Wars ones. It's the only one I'll be getting though, as I can't think of anything else in the lines we collect that could have a domed Pop.

Only picked up the rose and Stitch, mainly because Disneyyyyy but overall I'm not too big a fan of them. The rose kinda makes sense but doesn't really feel like a "POP" and the Stitch is such an awesome idea but like others mentioned that clear cone holding him up is almostttt a deal breaker.
I think a "movie moment" might have been cooler for the BnB Rose

Definitely agree RE the Rose, even a 6" Beast with tatty robes with a mini rose would have been amazing. And the fact it's sold as a Pop is laughable.
