New Toys R Us store layout

Great things come in mysterious miniature or pint sized packages, but which great thing will it be? It's all a mystery until you open one. Then the fun begins.

New Toys R Us store layout

Postby sylin » Wed Nov 15, 2017 7:25 am

So I went to my local TRU yesterday, and found out that the mystery minis are not in one spot anymore but are now spread out throughout the building. This is...agitating for a lot of reasons. I wasn't sure where some of the minis could be at because they don't typically have their own sections (ex: I looked for the Teen Titans ones but could not find a TT figure section at all). I tried asking an associate where I could some minis but she had no idea what a "funky figure mini" was. I guess I'm wondering if anyone here can point out where to find certain minis sets in TRU when they're not in the little island that used to have all the blind bags/boxes at.

Weird? Ours got moved together into one display?

Before they were everywhere. Now 99.999% are in the display with maybe 2-3 straggler cases within their respective licensed area (SW and FNAF for example).

Dang i hope they fix yours :(.

TTG set is still fairly new. Perhaps your store doesnt have yet. The online stock checker at TRU is very useful when its available. I looked just now for product link but didnt see anything just yet. I really bet they just havent rolled out for your store.

One more spot to check out is the electronics cash registers. They are known to stock some mini cases every so often. I have seen R and M there as well as Dr Seuss.

They've been like that in Canada (at least the one by me is) for a while, it is annoying. Pretty much have to walk the whole store to see what Funko they have.

The one I went to over the weekend had half of the minis in one section together, along with PSH boxes, and some other non-Funko blind box/bag things. But then some of the minis were strewn about like the Star Wars ones were in with other Star Wars, and Five Nights at Freddy's was in its own section.

Yeah, it's the opposite for me. They used to have everything in one spot, now they're spread throughout the store.

I might use the stock checker to see if they become available soon. Thanks for the reminder!

And yeah, I checked the registers, but they had nothing except some LEGO blind bags.

Exactly. I toured the whole store to try to find what I wanted, to no avail.

Same. Mine used to be spread out with some minis in their respective section with other same-branded toys. Now there all on one
Island in the main aisle. Still no TTG (or Coco) at mine either.

For me, it's some in electronics, some in the area its self (Star Wars, action figures etc) and some at the registers.

Hopefully when the new display hits, they will put them all in one area

Everything used to be in the Funko section but all the stores around me have started putting cases on the Electronics counter. Pretty sure it is due to the amount of theft. I'd go in there and see nothing and then come back 2 days later to a brand new case already empty with boxes or bags just ripped open or stuffed behind Pops.

This may depend on the location. I went to two stores today. One store in an upscale area centralized all Funko products in one Funko-centric display (though discounted Pops were on their own display in the videogames section). The other store had anything smaller than Dorbz on a display island near the registers due to a high amount of the small mystery boxes/bags being ripped open by kids.

Thanks for the heads up! I couldn't find the Star Wars so I checked the section and they were there!

There's a shelf of PSH, minis and those figural keychains at mine...right in the central aisle, so it gets easily annoying having people either walk around you or moving out so a wheelchair or cart can pass by lol But I understand why. I remembered the old section had plenty of ripped and empty bags.

MMy TRU put the Pop display into electronics, but moved the Minis and Psh to right next to the Tonka section. Makes absolutely no sense.
