Help With A Broken Ghost In A Jar Mystery Mini

Great things come in mysterious miniature or pint sized packages, but which great thing will it be? It's all a mystery until you open one. Then the fun begins.

Help With A Broken Ghost In A Jar Mystery Mini

So after months of searching for the rare 1/72 Ghost In A Jar mystery mini from the R&M series, I got super lucky at a local Target. Found a full new box and felt all the boxes and noticed the weight difference on this one compared to the rest and also heard a clanking sound (which I later come to find is the broken ghost mini). I honestly thought the ghost mini could be removed and that was what that sound was, just a mini outside of it's hole. So I buy it & open it and get super excited, I finally got the Mini I've been searching for. But to my dismay, I noticed that the mini was in fact broken and not just out of it's socket. Apparently the ghost is on a stand type plastic part and it was broken and he was just clanking inside the jar. Tried to open the top of the Jar but even with force it didn't want to come off and I didn't want to try too much incase it snapped or broke further.

Does anyone know if the top of the jar can come off, maybe with some heat from a hairdryer or any other way I can get that top part off? I really want to get in there and super glue the mini into place to try and salvage this rare mini for my collection. Would really really appreciate any help or insight on this. Thanks.

I don't know about the gold jar top, but I found a ghost in the jar mini that the bottom circle piece hadn't enough glue and therefore was separated from the rest of the jar. Maybe try cracking it open on that end? That's the piece you'll need access to anyway to glue ghosts stand back onto.

As far as getting the bottom off maybe someone else has good suggestion. Not sure if careful use of an xacto knife would do it or not?

Personally, I wouldn't try to open the jar. I'd be too scared of cracking the plastic. I think it looks kinda cool as-is :-D

Maybe you can try boiling it for a little? Maybe that'll make opening the top of the jar easier. I'm sure someone on the board could give you better advice than me though. Good luck (and congrats on the find)!
