Background Pictures in Boxes

Postby valorandvellum » Mon Oct 16, 2017 2:53 pm

I've noticed that some Pops (and for that matter, some Rides & Ridez) have printed backgrounds behind the clear plastic inserts. I think it's a nice added touch of detail, but was wondering why some have them and some don't? Anybody know why? Maybe some licenses are willing to pay a little extra for the added background and others aren't?

I think it may be the licensing agreement too. Like how Star Wars Pops have stands and others don't. This may just be something they wanted.

Even the cardboard insert in the Star Wars pops make them look nicer.

In the Diamond Collection, I think I've only seen Snow White have a silver cardboard background. All the others so far doesn't have it. Which I thought was weird. But maybe they did that for her 80th anniversary.

I like the idea for it. It could be a concept that they might consider looking more into. Consider may be a forest background for these Wetmore forest creatures, maybe a foggy mist background for ghosts, etc. They could do some simple but interesting things with it I bet.

Yeah, I think especially for in box collectors, having that background makes the whole package even better. If it's affordable, it'd be cool if they could add backgrounds to more Pops!

I think it’s a great addition to the overall packaging. One of the coolest ones IMO is in the Daryl Dixon pop ride with his chopper. That one has an awesome background!

Finally! Someone else who feels the same way. I feel like the small extra touch makes Pops that much better. Same for the other Funko product lines.

Glad to hear it. It would be sweet if chase Pops had a different background pic, too.

I'm definitely a fan of the background inserts. Adds a little something to the display and the personality of the character. The Shining Pops box is already so cool with the "Redrum" on the plastic, but it would've been neat if it came with the patterned rug in the background too.

The new Star Wars movie moments have some cool unique backgrounds. I bought the Cloud City Duel before deciding I should stay away from the rest and used it behind the Pop even though I took it out of the box.

Yea those background prints really tie everything together. Makes the Pop feel like it's in a diorama. But I do wonder if all those Pops have different background images printed on it, if it'll look messy when placed together with unrelated Pops.

Since I display in box , I really appreciate the extra touch Funko does when put in a background. I would love to start seeing more of it along the pop lines. It would be nice if for example Captain America had his shield in the background, or Marvel. Batman would be really nice with the Batman Logo.

Collecting the Mad Max line now, I notice the boxes have the silver foil background as well. It does make the Mad Max pops look nicer so that the details stand out more in the box. I wanna take them out of box :-/ but I am still an in box collector and appreciate the backdrop in certain Pops.

I was wondering the same thing, the background adds a very nice touch to the pops.
