It clearly says UPDATE to indicate an edit to the original post. However, I'm not sure why he wouldn't have deleted the original caption.

For those of you wondering about the authenticity. It is real. The box even had the right name printed on the flap. My friend is the one that acquired it and I saw it in person. It is definitely NOT a custom. This seems to be like it was obtained from someone somewhere (Seattle, thats where it came from BTW) as a pre-production item. This was not received as a TOTY prize. This was bought aftermarket. I am sure the true release will be in a different box with an all new sticker since all of us on these forums know that it was not released at Fundays or SDCC.

Interesting that the theory was so easy that its a custom because of the sticker though. Haha.

I had posted previously that I hoped Funko would give them away at Fundays. I wish they had done both - give them at Fundays and give additional ones to TOTY random people.

I really hope to be able to get one. I love my Freddy's.

I'm really hoping that this is for the TOTY awards give outs. I am also really hoping that Funko has a way of knowing who voted for them so that those who votes will only be the ones in the lottery to get it. It kind of discourages those who actually voted for them from voting for them again in future polls.

The only issue with this custom for me is that it has a transparent body, but a Hologram style head. Either one would look awesome, but I do hope that Funko chooses just one of them for the official.

Now those look much more real. The head and the body match and there seems to be a bunch of them as if this could be from the distribution center they have them in.

I still think its cool they are giving away anything at all. That speaks to who Funko is and showing they go above and beyond for their funatics. I expect to see a lot of pics when these start going out so not too worried.

Very cool, those thank you stickers confirm it. I thought it was weird that the first pictures that surfaced have fundays boxes but no le count on the sticker. idk of any fundays freddies that didn't have a count on them (there probably are, I just don't know of them).

May I ask where he bought it and how he validated it as real? I am actually curious and not trying to just prove you wrong or something like that.

Pretty cool looking piece! If I get one, awesome. If I don't, I'll be okay. Hopefully not too many of these go up on eBay. Makes a nice addition to any Freddy collection, though!
