People who were there talked about it in our local FB group and said a lady with a baby got knocked down and kicked so they stopped giving away half way through and packed up. I wasn't there but a lot of my friends were, so this is a second hand story. They did not do handouts on saturday or sunday for sure though. I assume the remaining are stashed away somewhere and probably wont see the light of day.
there was a lady, she had a kid, and was pushed around because she was in the thick of it with all the other crazies trying to get the monoconan. I don't think she was kicked. but they did stop handing them out after this.
I'm hoping they send them out for code winners, since I happen to win one night, but i'm ok with it not in my collection.
That's what my friend said too who was there. But he said they only handed out a few before yelling at everyone and packing up. I was in the area with him earlier but saw the crowd and knew I wouldn't be safe with my baby so I left. Turns out I was right. I thought they would hand them out the next day but not.

The lady with the baby didn't get knocked down and kicked. She was in th middle of it all am doing things were getting scary. This mother should NOT have put her baby in this situation.
jeffcrazy wrote:I just randomly came across this thread, and although it's obviously too late to help for MonoConan, this tidbit might help somebody next year - I had heard the surefire way to get something that #TeamCoCo was handing out on the streets was to literally stalk the giveaway cart. People waited by Spreckles in the morning for the giveaway crew to walk out and would just follow them around until they started handing stuff out.

My guess is that a ton of them were handed out to people during SDCC who don't collect too many pieces and aren't apart of a community... which happens a lot. They'll either never exchange hands or will hit the 2nd market after a few months.

Agreed I was at Sdcc and many Monos where given out just in secret places they posted on Instagram and through twitter post to team coco where they would bring you Conan Pops in the Gaslamp. I talked to several folks at the con with the mono in hans who said they don't collect or even know what a Funko is but hey it was free and they where in the right place at the right time or added onto a crowd forming and got the Mono. NON of this is Bad I'm happy for those that got one. The hidden locations they posted in Instagram where not familiar to me not being from San Diego so I never could get the hidden ones but many locals who know the locations got them which ain't bad either yay for them I started calling it a "locals exculsive"

Definitely, as much as I want pieces to go to collectors... if it gets into the hands of someone who isn't aware of Funko and starts collecting, or into a fan's hands.. then that's just as good.

From what I've seen the counts are about right with what everyone else is saying and they definitely still had more to go around but chose not to. I'm guessing they are all with the TBS staff.
I'm sure they wont be doing that again next year and maybe go back to the raffle at the Hyatt; space permitting.
I would love to go back to raffles. Just insert a few random golden tickets for the very limited ones. I thought it went very smooth and quickly last year and was hoping they would go back to it this year.

I laughed out loud at mos eisley. There were lots of funatics in the crowd, I wish someone had a drone so we could see the overhead footage. It was like The Walking Dead out there. Legit one of the craziest things I've ever seen happen for an exclusive. They stopped distributing them when the mob somewhat formed into a line.
I took an L since that lady kinda got smushed and that little girl almost got trampled out front. Got lucky enough to find someone on facebook that gave me him for my extra Doctor Strange so that worked out. But you're right, there were some very unruly characters out there.

That being said I wasn't there. But I would like to know if that woman went away from the the crowd with the kid or towards. That changes everything.
