Monoconan what happened to all 500??

Morning to everyone theres speculation only 200 where given out. Any thoughts heard what happened with that huge crowd .

Maybe they hand out more on sdcc2018??

"Speculation" is a really bad thing to go off of in the Funko community.

My guess is that a ton of them were handed out to people during SDCC who don't collect too many pieces and aren't apart of a community... which happens a lot. They'll either never exchange hands or will hit the 2nd market after a few months.

If they didn’t hand out all 500 which it looks like they didn’t it would be cool if they sent them out randomly to contest winners that entered the code on his show and couldn’t be at comic con.

I think they gave away at least 200 but most like between 200-300. If they had 500 and proportioned it to give out from wed-sun, then that'd be 100 per day. So they completed the giveaway on Wed and Thurs, but shut down on Friday because of the crazies. However, I also heard that on Sunday they were packing up and getting out of dodge asap, so if it was only 4 days planned then there could have been around 250 given out.

Honestly it kills me to think that they're just in some box in some office on the WB lot gathering dust. They'll prob end up sending them out as part of the online code giveaway.

I highly doubt they'll be stashing any Monoconans for next year. If they hand out more Conans next year it'll probably be a different version. Again, all we can do is speculate. :-P

But I'm sure the ones that weren't given away prob did end up on desks of some employees as a giveaway, although we can always dream they give them away later

People who were there talked about it in our local FB group and said a lady with a baby got knocked down and kicked so they stopped giving away half way through and packed up. I wasn't there but a lot of my friends were, so this is a second hand story. They did not do handouts on saturday or sunday for sure though. I assume the remaining are stashed away somewhere and probably wont see the light of day.

There was definitely more than 200 given, 300 might be close but I'm thinking closer to 375 were given out. I saw pics of the carts that carried all the pops. Each cart held at least 50 and they had about 2 carts per day. First 3 days went smooth, 4th day was a fiasco and they opted not to do the 5th day. I did see some get handed out to friends of staff and as mentioned above, I could see some handed out to employees as well. My guess is there are 100 not accounted for by fans at least..they may have ended up being given to employees or partnerships.

Because of all the shenanigans, I doubt they will do something so limited again unless they change the way they are given out.

Well I know a few were given at Fundays, so I'm sure there's a small allotted to Funko for contests, giveaways and stuff as well.

I have no doubts TBS has their own special allotment. I can see easily only 300/500 being given away on the streets during SDCC and the rest allocated elsewhere. I'm sure even Conan himself has maybe 20-30 friends/family members of his own he made sure to have taken care of. What about other high up executives at TBS, etc. Always gotta account for those types of things.

From what I've seen the counts are about right with what everyone else is saying and they definitely still had more to go around but chose not to. I'm guessing they are all with the TBS staff.

I would love to go back to raffles. Just insert a few random golden tickets for the very limited ones. I thought it went very smooth and quickly last year and was hoping they would go back to it this year.

they need to go back to the raffle. it becomes dangerous when you're basically handing out free $400 to people who can score a pop. that lady wasn't too smart to bring her baby and try to use it as leverage to jockey for space in the cluster eff at the back of sprenkles. I did feel bad for her and the little girl that got stepped on and nearly trampled on at the front door when the lineup went towards there.

all in all, collectors have gotta chill though. it looked like a scene out of the wlaking dead, it was nuts. probably one of the least well thought out attempts at distribution of a free item I've seen. I include myself in that. I know there were funatics there too, got to say hi to a few people.
