BAD APE VERSIONS?
Why do all the photos of the BAD APE from "War For The Planet Of The Apes" show a very dark skinned model but the only ones we are receiving are a very light or White skin?
Does anyone have the dark version of BAD APE?

Color discrepancies between glams/movies/actual production vary. Sometimes Funko will even modifies colors after the initial batches.

Ok..but shouldn't the photo of what you are purchasing match the product? Could this not be considered false advertising or "bait and switch"?

The glam photos are not 100% guaranteed to be the exact production piece. They've even said that the final product might differ.

I'm not following you. Photos from where? Are you referencing the glam photos that Funko puts out on new products? It's very often those glams don't mirror the actual product coloring exactly, and sometimes they are coming from multiple factories, who have slight variations between paint colors. I've even seen many websites including Funko put up minor disclaimers that the actual product could vary from the images.
Also, bait and switch has nothing to do with this topic. Bait and switch generally has to do with a company offering some kind of bargain, only to find out the item was not in stock, or the retailer knew inventory would be super low. You arrive to the store (or website) only to find that the company is pushing a more expensive or inferior product on the consumer.

Re: BAD APE VERSIONS?
The Bad ape being pictured and the ones received being almost white is a bit more than a "slight" variation between paint!
Anyway, as can be assumed, I'm more than a bit upset at this fact.

Last comments I can think of, return the POP for your $8-12 if it's really that upsetting, or take a stab at customizing it with a re-paint.

Re: BAD APE VERSIONS?
To be fair, in the actual movie, Bad Ape looks a lot closer to the official product than the glam. But, if you really are that upset with the pop, you should return it, customize it, or simply live with the fact that your toy has a lighter paint color on it than you would prefer.

Re: BAD APE VERSIONS?
Wow, those colors are actually VERY different. I can understand a slight color shift, but that's a pretty big leap
I don't recall seeing a lot of other Pops that were so different from their glams unless they received some feedback and made adjustments. I can't imagine any feedback would be to make it albino though so I have no clue

Re: BAD APE VERSIONS?
I can understand the frustration, the colors are way off. I currently don't own a Bad Ape so i don't have anything to compare it to. But if there isn't a darker Bad Ape that exists out there, i would just chalk it up to the fact that this one of those occasions where the vision didn't translate into the final product.

If anyone see's a actual version of this in the wild that more closly matches the advertising photo please let me know. Otherwise I will continue to consider this blatant false advertising.
Thanks.

It isn't false advertising. You are just trying to cause problems where none exist. They even post a disclaimer telling you that glam shots are not the final product. Either return your item or move on with your life. Facebook I believe is the platform you're looking for. People will listen to you there.

Re: BAD APE VERSIONS?
My Bad Ape Pop is pictured below. Having the white proto to compare it to, I was mostly impressed by the paint detail — especially around his eyes. I think his complexion is lighter than most of the other apes, so it may be a slight over-compensation but it matches the original box art. I just like that they gave this sweet, secondary character the Pop treatment.

That's an awesome proto. Without a paint-job you can really make out all of the fine details of the sculpt.

Totally agree. I got it before the Pop was announced or anyone knew who the character was, but I was just in awe of all the details.

I do remember seeing 2 different Anna's from frozen. I like to refer to them as summer Anna (tan) and winter Anna (lighter) I think it just depends on the factory. Personally I don't think it's a big deal. He's still Bad Ape

Re: BAD APE VERSIONS?
He does look lighter than the other apes in the movie (I assumed it was because of him living in that old house after he escaped the zoo), but I could see adding some darker browns around his eyes and hair line.

I believe it has to do with all the political fallout that had to do with the last minute change.

I've been hunting near and far for the Black Bad ape that we've all discusing here with no luck, even going through a dozen freshly opened cases.
