sorry, I disagree with you on the pop up shop, one of worst experiences I've ever had at SDCC, and that's saying a lot

So why is that how did it go for you ?

I'm still kind of bitter, haven't gotten around to voicing my displeasure, I'll get around to it eventually....lol

I'm sorry to hear that I hopefully they fix the problem next year. I always leave one day early because I live far from San Diego so I think that's why I got everything on the first day at gr pop up shop but next time hit me up maybe we can all camp out lol

Yeah. Then on the last day, Nickelodeon was sieved by early access vendors who were "attendees". I also failed horribly trying to get a Mono Conan. My wife got punched in her lower back by some guy trying to beat her to one.

the exhibitors reared their ugly heads again starting Friday when the word was out Nickelodeon had two hot items

I actually bought Funko and got to Nickelodeon on Wednesday, before things got crazy Friday, Saturday and Sunday, some of my friends got in Wed and Thur, but if you didn't have an exhibitor badge to do the switcheroo you were DONE the other three days, and man they were their old ruthless selves, it brought back SDCC to a few years ago when everything was a free for all and vendors got everything. Kind of sucked! On Sunday Hallmark sells to exhibitors, but none were there as they were all fighting for Nickelodeon....lol

What was Funny was, they has the Powdered Toast Man, and they told me it was exclusive through their booth, but was always out. On Sunday, I was talking to a friend, and he told me that Kidrobot had them at their booth. I went over there, and sure enough, they had plenty in stock, so I was able to actually get one, and it was $25, instead of $50, because they were fire selling all their stuff right before the con closed.

Got everything i needed, and most of what i wanted. Only missed out on Baxter and the deathstroke 2 pack which a buddy hooked me up with.

Still trying to trade out my shared exclusive stickered Mr.Clarke and Steve for the official SDCC stickered ones. Then ill be 100% complete for the year...

MINUS the white lantern superman freddy... but im in no position to spend 1k+ on a pop right now after my family vacation i just went on lol
Some of the best memories in life, can be made by simply taking a chance. I took a chance with Funko, and it has brought myself and my family fun and smiles for the past five years since.

Hoping for Fundays 2018!!!!!!

What!?! Seriously? What kind of person does these things? The con seems to escalate in negative behavior each and every year. I just hope people don't start taking a "fight fire with fire" approach because nothing is worse than negative behaviors becoming pervasive. CCI needs to wake up and look around, offsitea too, need to start making considerations for public safety. Let's be civil, GD it!

Punching someone for a Mono Conan...that's just nuts.

That behavior is pure sickening. I heard a 'story' of people rushing and a lady and a baby got trapped. Could simply be wrong place at wrong time, but hearing something like this perhaps that story is in fact true. That just is sad.

Yeah, she wasn't hurt badly, but enough it left a solid bruise and she was sore for the rest of our time at SDCC. We were there when the lady and her baby stroller got engulfed. It was utter chaos.

Just bit the bullet and snagged the bugs hyde 2 pack off eBay for a decent price. Not thrilled about having to pay so,much for a 2 pack but I've got this feeling now,is going to be the only time it's,going to be somewhat affordable .

My hunt was pretty good, first time I hunted in a store(and only 1). If all my orders and pre orders come in I have hit the essentials. Still keeping an eye out for things like Glow Jolly, Mr. Toad, and Glow Baxter as is most everyone else. Have to say Glow Baxter was the biggest shocker for me this weekend.

I'm curious to hear other peoples experiences at the pop up shop. I didn't bother only because I didn't want anything this year. But people were lining up thursday for saturday is what I kept hearing. was that true?

Overall mine went well. I got most shared exclusives easy locally. Gemini was a big help for those I couldn't get. The only one I have yet to get that I wanted was the Dr. Hyde & Bugs 2-pack but I've given up hope on that one. I'd have to say that this year for some reason seemed much easier than years past.

Whoa, reading a lot of these stories is scary! I did all my sdcc shopping online and actually lucked out getting everything I wanted. Mostly scott pilgrim stuff. It was stressful staying up for days and constantly refreshing sites but nowhere near as crazy as dealing with crowds and lines. But it was my first time as a collector and I kinda had fun. I hope nycc goes the same.

Snagged a SDCC stickered Bucky Cap on ebay last week for a great price. Box is a bit mangled along the top back, but so worth it! Now I really need to break the ebay habit and stop looking at previous years SDCC pops.

This was my first year as a collector i could not get into the funko booth. I started right after 2014 SDCC unfortunately, so 2015 and 2016 ive gotten into the booths. I did manage to get into the funko line outside sails two times but was still on the steps when they said they were out.

I did like how there was no loser result this year. Last year there was a "Sorry" and that sucked if u camped out all night to lose. I did notice without a losing result, and all random winning times, the line sold out quicker than last year. Double edge sword i guess, cant win over everyone.

I managed to get a few online shared. N some at ebay early prices. I got chrome batman for. $160 early. N others at flipper prices on fb. Only thing i regret is passing by the bandai booth to try for gitd baxter. But when i got back to bandai the communicator was sold out.

I did go to fundays off the waitlist so at least i have that streak going.

There were only two things we wanted and we got them both at Hot Topic. I avoid SDCC like the plague these days. I went for 27 years straight, but it's such a disaster these days, even though I get in for free, I don't bother. Wondercon is a much better convention.

I realize there's only so much Funko & SDCC security can do but that line to line up at the booth even with a ticket is scary. Just a mob of people descending into a impromtu single file line which turns into a almost mosh pit at times. my buddy was crushed against a girl cosplaying with an elaborate costume and thankfully security pulled her (and him since he had become entangled) to the front of the line.

I don't mind the camping but they need to let people line up for the booth right away in the morning and figure out something else for the following timespots.

Love ya tho Funko I'll be there next year :)

That's already been answered, but Wondercon is like what SDCC was before the influx of Hollywood, before it turned into a media con instead of a fandom con.

I was able to get everything I wanted, either by buying or trading. It's good many were shared exclusives and were easier to acquire. Freddy Black Ranger would be awesome to have to complete the set. Hopefully a Conan set with MonoConan could change things.
