An Ahsoka Dorbz is number one on my wishlist. I have a custom and it's beautiful, I can only imagine how a production piece would look!

I have a naive, Dorbz-newbie question: How can Funko make Marvel and Star Wars Dorbz without making them bobbles? Did they reach some sort of deal with the original license holder, or is there a loophole in the Dorbz design that allows Funko to say that they aren't technically vinyl figures?

here is my newbie answer to your "newbie" question. I am guessing.
they might be so far different that they become acceptable. I think Hasbro has the main "action" figure rights. Lego has been loop-holing that for years. creating magnets which were basically figures on top of magnets (later ended up being glued to the base due to I assume are license protests). and lego has those figure packs where they have to throw in some tiny non-figure build to prevent it from being a straight up army builder.
I would doubt they made any deals. they don't usually play nice with each other is what I have been told in the past.

I think this is probably the reason, Dorbz don't have arms and legs so they don't really fall under the "action figure" category like Pops do (although I think Pops are marginal since the limbs aren't jointed).
Howdy, I'm Tres

This is all so insanely fascinating. I would love to read an oral history of Funko on how they managed to secure all of these licenses and the hoops they needed to jump through. I love that sort of insider baseball stuff

one of these years there will be a book written about the story. Titled "The Story of Pops, Tom Cruise, and Top Gun"
I too like reading this stuff.

TVader27 wrote:I would like to see a hoth Luke, Leia and Han 3 pack.
I would be all in for this. my favorite movie is empire and hoth specifically. having said that. I would doubt they make another han. or put in the han-taun into a three pack so soon. and they went "relatively" third party with the first three pack being cantina aliens vs a main character. I think the main characters will be spaced out. just a guess.
if its a three pack I would think
1) ewok/bikerscout/endor luke
2) obiwan/tuskin raider/jawa
3) vader/stormtrooper/imperial gunner (this combo might be too powerful haha)
4) pilot luke/tie pilot/Chewbacca (too powerful)
I don't mind the spreading out. I am getting all of them and want the obscure characters anyway.

they really started it off right with the han taun. I can't rave enough about it. would be kind of cool if the pops focused on the new movies and the dorbz got up to speed with the OT and even PT. divide and conquer.
