Are PSH overtaking Mystery Minis?
It seems like they're gotten way more popular as of late.

Re: Are PSH overtaking Mystery Minis?
I personally prefer them - at least for some of the sets - I think they are just super cute and the smaller size makes it a little easier for me to display since I am running out of room for my collection!

Re: Are PSH overtaking Mystery Minis?
In some ways yes and some ways no. Psh are smaller, cheaper, and made to look cute. Almost mini dorbz. Mystery Minis though have more details, larger but still a small size compared to pops, and still easily displayable. I like and have both and tend to lean towards psh but I love the X-Men mystery minis for example for the details on the figures. You can't go wrong with either imo

Re: Are PSH overtaking Mystery Minis?
I like both, but I prefer MMs. I like that they're larger, have more detail, and come in all sorts of different poses. PSHs are a bit too small for me and they tend to get knocked over and fall on the floor all the time. Haven't had one break yet, so at least they're durable.
In terms of which are more popular, it's hard to say. I think PSHs have pulled ahead based on chatter on here, but locally I think MMs still sell a little better, but neither sell really well.

I agree I love the detail on the mystery minis, but can't help but find the psh to be extremely adorable lately. I see hem for more in stores than minis nowadays.

Re: Are PSH overtaking Mystery Minis?
I way prefer MM. I have a ton and will keep buying tons LOL PSH are mostly, like people have said, mini dorbz and a bit too small for me. I've never bought any PSH, until today with the Freddy 5-pack, but that's a whole different beast, in my mind. I wanted those Freddies.

I like both! PSH remind me of dorbz, and i'm loving dorbz <3 Plus the PSH are tiny and I like tiny, cute things. Mystery minis catch my attention because of their variety. There are a ton of types out there and more coming. I can't wait to see where both lines go.

I also prefer the MM's. Different poses and more detail gives them more "character" IMHO

I was determined not to collect PSH, but of course I was doomed after I got my first one. I like MMs and PSH, but I'm starting to think I prefer the PSH. Their size plays a big factor in my affinity for them.

Re: Are PSH overtaking Mystery Minis?
My only problem with PSH is the packaging. I know when I head to the store to pick some up and see 10 crinkled bags I get super irritated. I know other companies put their blind bag stuff in between cardboard so you can't feel it out. It's basically the same reason I fell off MMs is because of the layouts and the cherry picking. Often it's more annoying than fun.

I hope not... I do like the psh but the quality control on them just seems bad. Not that the mystery minis is better but it seems like the dozen that I've bought more have some defect than the mystery minis I have. If they stepped up the quality control I'd probably buy more

I enjoy both but really like being able to sort-of feel up the bags of the psh to reduce the number of duplicates I accidentally end up with
MM are much more detailed though..makes them a better product but more challenging to round up full sets of

I am a fan of both, but the pint size are the perfect collectile for me to gorge myself on. I can fit all of mine in such a small area. My pop collection took over my apartment, but the lint size have only claimed a small section.
I have become determined to complete the line. Hopefully I can keep up. It's been a struggle lately, haha!

Hopefully not. The PSH are cheaper to make and (slightly) cheaper, but I prefer the Mystery Minis way more.

Put me squarely in the MM boat. PSH are neat but MMs will always be better to me. Maybe not the bobbleheads due to quality issues I've experienced but the DC sets are my jam.

I have the same viewpoint as I do with dorbz, I tend to ignore most of them and only look for the ones I really like. The variation in poses and sizes of the MM is was makes them better IMO

Re: Are PSH overtaking Mystery Minis?
I used to love Minis back in the day, because some of the series were pretty stylish. However, they seem to be pushing those cutesy styled ones for EVERYTHING, and I hate them! They're so ugly. PSH, however, aren't ugly, are cheaper, and seem to express a greater variety of emotion. That being said, I still buy Minis, but a lot of the series are being tainted with that horrendous style, so my purchases are getting downsized.

Totally agree with you...I think of PSH as mini Dorbz but for a nicer, more detailed smaller figure you can't beat MM.

This. I love the variety of poses, sizes, and expressions that we get with mystery minis, not to mention the details. I hope we never see MM go away, and I especially hope that the Horror Classics line continues. That's one of the longest-running mini lines to keep a consistent aesthetic style, and they all look great!

Re: Are PSH overtaking Mystery Minis?
I think comparing PSH to MM is like comparing apples to oranges (or Dorbz to Pops). Different style, different size, different appeal, different packaging/marketing, etc. Neither will replace the other and I doubt the introduction of PSH was intended to be a replacement. I tend to the view the Funko business model as trying to appeal to every market they can to best capitalize on the vast amount of properties. Don't like Pops? Maybe you'll like Dorbz. Don't like Mystery Minis? Maybe you'll like PSH. Or maybe you'll like a little bit of everything. I like some Mystery Minis, but collect every PSH. I like the look and the consistency between lines. I'm a customer that Funko is now getting more money from and I think that's probably part of what they were aiming for.

Re: Are PSH overtaking Mystery Minis?
Something else to consider is that MM have already hit their stride and, while I don't expect them to go away soon, most of the main figures in most lines have already been done. GoT, TWD, Marvel, DC, Harry Potter, WWE, Steven Universe, Bethesda, Disney, etc. have already had MM of main characters (some several times over), whereas it's all new with PSH. Other than lines like horror and sci-fi, there doesn't seem to be as many original ideas to come from the main properties, whereas PSH have tons of opportunities. Having said that, by this time next year PSH might be in the same place. Some of the lines done already won't have more waves most likely (Steven Universe, Mega Man and Street Fighter come to mind). In fact, with more characters per wave the longevity of PSH might be less than MM.

Re: Are PSH overtaking Mystery Minis?
Personally, I love both. There are PSH and MM lines I love and want all of and others I'm completely indifferent to. For instance, absolutely love both sets (and the mini Homecoming set) for Spiderman! Different styles appealing to different people. Also, in general, I see MMs of some sort basically everywhere I go. PSH I only see in very specific places. But I also mainly look in Manhattan since I work there, so finding anything is worse odds than a needle in a haystack!

I like both! The styling of pint size heroes is neat but like Dorbz doesn't offer as much personality as some of the mystery minis that have poses. Although, some of my favorite MM lines are the ones where they look like Kewpie dolls, which has the same pose, but still more detail!

I could easily see there being another Mega Man wave, since there are still lots of possible Robot Masters and Mega Man variants available.

I love both PSH and MM for different reasons. I really enjoy the extreme level of detail recent MM lines have had (I'm looking at you, Fallout 4). I don't mind compromising the detail for the 'cuteness' of PSH, but I think I prefer certain characters in each format.

Re: Are PSH overtaking Mystery Minis?
I would have to agree with a few of the opinions here. MM are definitely more detail oriented and I don't think they'll phase them out anytime soon. a few waves of PSH keeps the Funko market looking fresh with new product here and there.

This. MMs are better products in general, but buying a whole bunch of boxes and winding up with numerous duplicates sucks. This devalues MMs quickly, either in terms of stores putting them on clearance or people selling dupes on eBay for cheap.

Although psh are becoming more versatile. They're small enough to add t to other stuff like the tee shirts etc, options could be endless.

I prefer MM. I like that each set can kind of have it's own style, whereas PSH all basically have to look like Dorbz. I think MM at their best have the potential to capture a character better than any other Funko product.
I'm warming up to PSH, but I don't think I could ever obsess over them like I do MM.
