Discovered the creature's name is TumbleBee. Tumble likely because it is clumsy and bee because of the color combo. Obviously play on the word bumblebee.

For those who missed on the ECCC panel, here is what we know (paraphrasing):
Ben Butcher - POP! Monsters is a new IP for Funko of original characters that will be available at the Funko Shop (given the timer on this one, sure seems like it will be next week's item for the shop)
Wilky - New interest in old spastic plastic lines and other Funko oldies.
Reis - a new Monster world; they live together in an eco system that we will experience through different styles and seasons; Tapping into nature and bizarre animal that do not exist

Well, I love monsters, so I'm pretty interested. I have to admit though I hope some of them are creepy or weird, and not all cutesy. Nothing wrong with cutesy, but I don't see myself collecting a whole new line of cutesy monsters, but don't quote me on that if some of them are really cool!

Strikes a major chord with me, I grew up in the 60's and 70's and make-believe monsters like this one were in books and the subject of plush, and I loved them! I spent many an afternoon imagining crazy but friendly monsters living in bizarre worlds. There was even a record when I was a kid that had all these off sounds that were being made by fantasy monsters. I would listen to it and stare at the creatures on the album jacket trying to imagine which was which. One of my side collections is Upsy Downsys- if you look them up you will no doubt see why I love Pop Rides and Dorbz Ridez so much! Greatly looking forward to this line.

During the signing I briefly spoke with Shanna Duncan, one of the Funko Artists. One of the five cards she had was an original character of her design, so naturally I chose that one. I will try to post a photo of it when I get home. It is on my Instagram account though (paisleyandpoise) for anyone who wants to see it. I forgot to ask the name though but it is AMAZING!! I can't wait for this line.

I have to admit this isn't at all what I was expecting, when I heard "Funko originals" I was thinking something along the lines of the Spastiks, like crazy hot rod monsters with blood shot eyes and such. I'm disappointed, but I will say this is pretty darned cute and I would definitely buy it.

I know this has been said before...But I'd LOVE to see more of the rat rod type funko characters (I've always thought of them as rat rod characters, ).

Funko revealed the concept for these last night at ECCC, and for those who don't know what I'm speaking of, Funko said that they will try putting their toes back into the pond of making original characters, with backstories and everything! Variants will be based off of the seasons of their world.
What do you guys think? I'm happy to see that Funko's trying something new with their lines, and excited to see concepts or protos of what's to come.

I cannot wait for these, honestly the most excited I've been for a new line since maybe when they got the Rocky Horror license. I"m not even sure why I'm so hyped for this, but I keep checking thee countdown, hoping it'll be next week already. Noticed the countdown lines up to when they normally put stuff up on Funko-shop, so I'm expecting some to drop on there next week. Wonder if we'll get any SDCC exclusives.

I'm interested in seeing what monsters they come up with. Could be a fun line. I don't plan on buying many, but I definitely will buy one every once in awhile if there's a design that I really like. Tumblebee is ok, but not one that's for me.
