About the Burton Batman Dorbz Ride

Postby TheBoilerman » Fri Mar 31, 2017 12:04 pm

Can anyone comment on the difference between this Batman and last years SDCC version? I assume there are subtle paint differences, but I can't find a picture of the Batman out of the ride to compare.
I bought a Mystery Mini and thought it was cool. Now I have shelves covered in Funko vinyl products. What Happened?

Hmm I thought I had a picture of him outside the Ridez, but I do not. I can take a look tonight if nobody else responds by then.

Oops, I misread the question, but here's a pic of the newer Ridez Batman for comparison:

I'm pretty sure he means what the difference is between the one in the Batmobile, and the one from the Batman Returns 3 pack.
I don't own either, so I wouldn't know. I'd assume they would do different molds to keep the con one exclusive.

I think he's talking about the SDCC Batman in the 3-pack from 2016.

Oops, you're right, I completely misread the question! I corrected my post. Thanks!

He is indeed, subtle difference but looks like that's about it. Here's a clip that shows him out of the car (skip to 1:30):

If this is the new one from the ride, I see no difference other than some belt details that may have just been washed out by the flash.

Interesting...

Love that they finally paid tribute to the burton Batmobile. Still no Tumbler, but I love this one more anyways....

Probably should have used an angle where you could actually see the Batarang lol Only difference I see, but the newer one has a slightly better paint job and longer cape (from what I can tell).

Yeah the only main difference would be the Batarang. I know most of the pop rides have a slightly different sculpt. Do the other dorbz ridez have differences?

Great comparison shot, thanks!

Yeah, it's been a while since I did a comparison check but there were differences in all of them except (I think) the first Batman in Batmobile. Some are subtle differences, like Fred in the van has a striped shirt versus white shirt, and others are a unique mold only available in the Ridez (such as the Banana Splits).

By the way it's the same with Pop Ride drivers, all are unique except the first two (Batman in black Batmobile and Marty in Delorean).

Thanks for the comparison pic Brett. The paint app on the belt for the batmobile version is a nice improvement.

Here is a comparison showing the batarang a little better. I think your longer cape is just the say it sits. Both of mine look about the same. The utility belt does have alot more detail on it though.

I bet! I haven't seen it in person until now, so while I am not a big time Dorbz collector, I had a feeling it would be gone if I left it last night. It has that nostalgia feeling to it. I also took it, because I do like the '89 film. The Batmobile included is just awesome. I do hope you find one soon. Don't give up.

There was a small early release of them, but they were not slated for an "official" release until this month, so they should be out in force pretty soon. I have a feeling they'll be like Beast, once they hit they'll be all over the place.

This one has still not shown up in my area. I'm a huge fan of '89 Batman, so I keep checking, but my three Walmarts all only carry Beast...

My local WalMart still has all 6 Beast in Blackbird Ridez that it put on the shelf months ago. I don't expect to see a Batmobile here, but I keep hoping.

I think it's safe to say that Walmart will no longer be stocking these on shelves nor will it appear online. It was a legit store only exclusive.

Finally got my hands on one (secondary market, but cheaper than retail!). Not disappointed, it looks great with my B:TAS and '66 Dorbz Ridez.

Need to pick up a BvS one now, and hopefully there will be a Tumbler down the road.
