I actually weighed them on a postal scale at work, madcaps were 7.9-8.0 ounces while slapstick was only 4.5 ounces

Re: New HT Mystery Pops
Been on the forum less than 24 hours and I've spent $100 already. You guys are going to be the death of me! I was in such a hurry I didn't even think about feeling the weight of the boxes, but oh well. Kinda bummed about my Slapstick box because the bottom has some sticky damage (not exactly sure what it is). Might go back later and try and get Madcap

I then bought 1 more heavy and got the Metallic Chase Madcap. I was really pumped!
During the Periscope, she said that the chase was a 1:24 piece....but with the amount that everyone is finding, I wonder if it is actually a 1:8 like last time.
That seems to be the case, but I could of just been lucky. I saw earlier in this post that someone bought 7 heavy boxes and only got 1 chase. So you never know, but it seems to be better than 1:24.

Another way some people have told me they can sense it's madcap is by feeling the brim of his hat stick out when you are holding the box. I think the weight was enough, but I don't know if that would help any with the variant of him. Probably not, but fyi.

That is actually true too, i just felt mine and it is a very easy thing to feel. But I think the weight is the most obvious giveaway, but the thatworks too!

ok so I made the trip to the mall and bought 6.....apparently our HT is smarter than most, they had them behind the counter so my 6 were truly random
I hit the Madcap on the first box. This HT only had 24 come in

Haha. Sounds about right. I didn't even have to like balance one in each hand to tell the difference; you know the second you pick it up.
And these are still showing in stock online. Crazy. Maybe that is for the best for those who are really seeking the chase.

Went back to the store to try and get Madcap, but I couldn't trust my judgement. My store only had 15 or so sitting out and I just didn't want to risk it. Sigh

So, if the chase is 1:24, does that make him 1:8 if you're only getting Madcaps?

Re: New HT Mystery Pops
This is killing me. I wish I had money to go to the store after work today. The fact that they release these items a lot on a Thursday is kind of annoying. Fridays are better since it's payday, but that's just me I guess, most people seem to have the money to run out and get 2-12 of these. Granted, I personally think people buying more than a few is kind of rude, but whatever. I will be heading to the mall tomorrow after work, hopefully they have a few left and at least one of them is Madcap!

I was in the same boat. I'm thinking someone went into my store and grabbed all the Madcaps. Either that or my OCD wouldn't let me decipher different weights

I think it might be what Casey said, people are grabbing all the heavy boxes and buying those in hopes of scoring a chase. So when people aren't getting to a store until this late in the day, all the heavy boxes are already gone. It doesn't take long for word to get around on how to cheat the system

Re: New HT Mystery Pops
The chase is definitely still 1/24, the madcap basic is 1/6 (1 per mini case) so I think his value will be going up as well. The only reason chase seems so comon is because
A) people are purposely only buying heavier box
B) why post non-hits
So take that into account too... I think I'm the long run madcap basic and chase will end up significantly more valuable then their compatriots as well as terror

Re: New HT Mystery Pops
Bought 4, all regular madcaps. Went back and bought 2 more, both chase madcaps O.o
Can easily feel which are madcaps by weight but now I have a few extra madcaps I don't need.
Take 2:6 were chase but also factor in 6 of each of the other 2 variants so out of 18 I got 2 chases but bought all the madcaps they got in out of what seemed to be about 4 cases of 12.

Re: New HT Mystery Pops
I picked up 3 just after my HT opened this morning. The girl working there had 5 set aside for individual people that called but no one had been into the store to buy any of the others yet. She was just about to make a post on their instagram and thought they would all be gone pretty quick after that. I'm guessing they probably had 30 or so and I grabbed 3 I thought were heavier than the others. I'm too nervous to open them though

I bought 4 got a double of slapstick and one each of the other 2. I am pleased with what I got. There was a couple at the store that was literally buying 30 between the 2 of them and they were buying only heavy boxes. I got to the store at 10:02 so luckily they hadn't had a chance to go through all of them yet. 5 minutes later and I probably would not have even got the regular madcap.

This is what happened at the first store I went to. Two guys sifting through all of them. I was there about 5 minutes early and the doors were already opened. Luckily I was able to get 3 Madcaps, 1 being chase.

Wow, that's ridiculous. I'd probably suggest sending am email to the head office. I guess to just let them know what's happened.
As for me, I was first in line. Store had maybe 30 of them. I got 7. Guy after me got 12. And the girl behind him I think got 10. We didn't really leave much for whoever wanted to come in afterwards. Everything went smooth and without any problems. If anything, the guy behind me in line waited until I got my POPs and went to pay before checking them out for himself.

Do they even look into these things if I were to email them? And what is the contact info for HQ? Surely it isn't the generic customer support email address. I was going to go back into the store and take pictures and video but I was too ticked off to go back.

This whole mystery box thing is an absolute disaster. Why can't they just release the things without saying what they are and definitely don't release any "clues" as to how you tell one (and possibly a chase) from another? The way they're doing it takes ALL the mystery out of what's going on!

They probably don't care about stupid b**** customers, but they WILL care about employees breaking the rules. And given how they treated this release with secrecy and strictness (that's a word?), they'll listen if there's a problem. I'm on my phone, so I'm not sure, but the customer support info should be on the site. Give it a shot.

Yes the chick on the periscope vid telling everyone it was heavier and getting all the chase in a row made it very difficult for ht employees to not go crazy on them.

I think I lucked out, it seems like the HT I frequent doesn't really have pop collectors amongst the few employees there. They always tell me what came in and will even open the new inventory while I'm there to see if I want any of them. Never heard any of them mention collecting or anything at all

Btw the rest are for trade if anyone is interested, otherwise they'll sit in my drawer full of foolkiller.
Still better than what the second store I went to did. I wouldve rather searched through SEALED boxes and not found any Madcaps, rather than see that every single one had been opened. What a goddamn SHAME.

HT is pretty on point with the rules and these mystery boxes. For an employee to open them let alone accept returns or even put unsealed ones on the sale floor (even if they came like that, they should have not put them out). These were supposed to be no return and no exchange.
Report them to district manager or corporate (who will probably pass it to the DM then GM). People have gotten fired for less at HT. The store that allowed this deserves a overhaul on its opening crew anyways.

The store isnt doing that well it seems anyways. The POP wall is PATHETIC there to begin with, maybe 1/4 the size of the other stores. On top of that it is almost always dead when I go there. But I will never again shop there. Ever. I will report it, but I doubt they will respond or even do anything about it.

Agreed that's total disrespect of the fans and the intent of these mystery pops.
