Good. They never should have gotten Terror or B&W Harley or frankly ANY of the Mystery boxes period. It's a straight up insult from Funko to anyone who bought any here in the States.

I agree somewhat but if you ask me I think the bigger insult is that these are "mysteries". Some of us will by 3 of these and come up with all 3 of the same and to me THAT is insulting. I love Funko and thier products but this mystery stuff is one thing I dont like. Some people go and buy the 10 limit and dont even end up with the "chase" piece so how is that not frustrating/insulting? So this round im going to eiether A) wait for them to be sold on PC
or
B)If there are funatics who get extras and want to sell/trade them maybe go that route cause during the last Mystery sales I purchased 10 and ended up with 6 foolkillers and 4 solos when I could have just bought the bundle on PC. I was able to at least help some funatics with the extras I got but im still stuck with 2 extra foolkiller and 1 solo right now lol

Welcome to the world of mystery boxes.

Lots of companies do mystery boxes, it's nothing new. It encourages trading which is a good thing imo. PC isn't always a guarantee so you can either
A) take a chance on the very limited supply at PC
B) buy them in store and trade with other people (or get lucky)
C) buy it on the 3rd party market for more $

The mystery element isn't insulting because you know it's a mystery going in before you ever buy them. It's the same principle as Mystery Minis, Titan figures, Lego minifigure blind bags, subsrciption boxes or baseball cards.

But for Funko to advertise these here as Mystery Boxes, then sell them somewhere else in different non-mystery packaging just seems wrong on a general moral level. If the PC ones were also a mystery, I'd have no issue at all.

Lol which is why I don't collect mystery minis. I see your point though just throwing in my 2 cents :)

Do we know for certain that Funko DOESN'T ship the figures to them in the cardboard mystery sleeves and PC just opens them up?

Question of ignorance.... What's to stop a collector from opening the lid of the mystery sleeve and seeing which pop it is?

These are shrink wrapped, so there is no way to open it unless that wrapping is removed.

They are shrink wrapped too so you'd have to rip the plastic.

I assume a Hot Topic Employee would stop you. The Black Friday ones were on a shelf, I could have peeked in but then it would be opened and I would get caught.

My hot topic had the last series just sitting on a shelf in the back and I don't recall them being shrink wrapped, but I could be wrong... I wasn't collecting hard at the time so I didn't really take note. But thanks for the answers!

Oh yes, all shrink wrapped. That was what kept HT out of and above the whole Gamestop foil seal mess!

Hot Topic should offer a pre-paid purchase bundle in store to their club members. With a 48 hour pick-up window on the release date. That way if someone doesn't pick-up or wants to cancel they can refund store credit to their club card.

Lovin the new molds...a shame they just did repaints on the first batch. I would be astounded if PC doesn't offer full merc for money sets by the time these hit the stores. Curious to see what the Massacre chase mold looks like!

I am always seeing people on instagram that will have exclusives way before street dates. Like the BVS ones, for example. In another thread, there were a few people saying they had the ID4 Resurgence POPs already....wtf, they aren't even on PopCultcha yet. Hell, they aren't even on EBAY yet, and you know when anything is released, it is on ebay within nanoseconds.

Everyone at their local Hot Topic should be fined and fired, from the person who completed the sale to the manager that let it happen. Isn't this breaking street date and a violation of their contract with Funko?

Bottom right, there we have our chase.

Spoiler: show

I find it alarming that this is happening more and more lately. People having exclusives way before they're even supposed to release. Either because of shady business by stores, or because they are employees and keep entire shipments for themselves etc. Makes me really sad an it's a bummer for the entire community. But this happens to everything that becomes popular after some time I guess.

I've talked to the manager at my local hot topic quite a bit and she's told me that they aren't allowed even to give any information as to what is in the mystery boxes or they can be fired. All they can do is hint that you should come back on X date for something special releasing that morning. With the civil war unmasked ironman pops where people were getting them early, they were having lawyers getting involved with the early sold pops. They have "wanted" posters in thier back room that at my ht they had to put somewhere else because the FedEx/UPS guys would look at them and take pics of them.

Don't get too upset if you see it owned on PPG. Even I am guilty of posting that I own it before actually having it in hand. I update my collection when I pre-order an item so I don't forget to do it later. Just because it says owned, does not mean it is in hand yet.

I always believe Popcultcha/FP should get at least some stock of each figure Funko releases to help us international folks. Mean I want unmasked Kylo but it hasn't shown up yet, so I'd have to rely on board members to help me out, but it'd end up costing in the region of 15 dollars more than Popcultcha or FP. Maybe they should be sold as mystery Pops on the website instead of listed as 'Stingray' etc.
With that being said, I really want that chase Madcap

It's possible, but unlikely. I don't think any of the Hot Topic DC Pops have shown up, only the GameStop BN Superman and he only went up this week. Hot Topic exclusives usually do end up on FP, except Civil War Iron Man but I'm sure it's only a matter of time
