I get not feeding the flippers, and it seems they are aggressive on clearing out the shelves for a POP that will probably be widely available in the US at some point for retail. With that being said I don't think it's really all that unfair to pay $18-25 for a POP and avoid the trouble of driving around to stores etc. Some people enjoy the hunt, and to each their own, and others make some side cash by reselling on eBay/FaceBook/Craigslist etc. I don't see retail stores taking an aggressive stance on buying multiples of the same item, and for stores like Walmart or Target it would probably need to be enforced on a per-store basis, and think how much extra work it would require a large store to impose a limit at the register on a $10 toy. I'm not disputing your stance, and if you want to stick to your convictions and not pay a penny over retail you may luck out on the forums if someone is feeling generous. I personally will wait it out for a month and then look for a good deal on eBay if necessary.
You're right, maybe it's too strict to say I wouldn't buy from someone who just grabbed an extra one and wants to make a plus of $5 with it on ebay. I see these people's points. But flippers clearing out entire shelves are the worst, they distort the competition and it just sucks. I see your point of big stores not really being able to change much about the issue because it's not worth it for them.
Yeah, I enjoy the hunt too. Unfortunately I live somewhere where it makes my heart beat faster when I see 10 POP!s in a store. So all I can do for these is to beg my friend again and again to check for me and if I had the chance I would hunt myself.
My hope is, Funko will find a way to at least make things slightly fairer but that's a long shot I guess. POP!s have become very serious business over the last 6 months in my opinion and it kind of worries me.
