New Walgreen's Exclusives- Iron Spider/Green Goblin(Update)

There is nothing in the merchandising guide for them to be placed that is mandatory with the exception of a tiny area in the Easter set. So unless the manager is willing to make a display for them it really doesn't matter. When we have shelf space, 99% of the time we promote our owned brand if its not in our guide. You can try another Walgreens to see if they would be willing to order them manually for you though since that one isn't willing

Went to Walgreen's with the hope of finding something because their inventory said 6-9 in stock. Fail. All they had was Gotham on the shelves. I showed an employee the inventory off my phone and he said they don't carry Marvel -_- . Went on to the next Walgreens with an inventory of 2-6. Major Fail. They didn't even have a toy/hobby section.

Update: Walgreens (Duane Reade) at Penn Plaza that had an inventory of 6-9 is now out of stock.

Put together a Marvel pop packet for my local Walgreens manger in photoshop today. Going to go pitch some order requests tomorrow. Since the new release of these local store stocks have not changed. Also my local store stock is 0 and still nothing after they got the new truck. That Steve Anne guy talks a mean game but so far these and the new WON have not came through yet. He did say wait until Feb at min tho. Just seeing all these stores getting them in and all the chases for that matter gets me antsy.

I check constantly. Minimally daily, sometimes many times a day. 25 mile radius includes 28 Walgreens locations in two states. NEVER yet seen any stock number change. I dont even care about chase, we are never going to get regulars and this 9 month thing I dont buy for a minute.

I've been hearing horror stories lately from people working at Walgreens. The phones burning up daily and tempers getting worse and worse. These will most likely come in in waves for several montths at least....no need to behave like spoiled children. Blaming, accusing and just being overall jagbags.

I've dealt with the worst of it before and can sympathize. I hope people here don't let the madness take them over like that. They look like complete jackasses, and it only gets them a place in a running gag of a workplace horror story told a dozen times over the years.

On another note, I also heard some stores got in HUGE shipments of Deadpool. One got in 200 and another got 400. Big mistake? or the numbers to expect? Who knows?!

I've never heard of any horror stories but I can relate with the retail employees getting frustrated (used to work retail) with the call's etc of people wanting these pop's. Walgreen's just needs to be more prepared and handle the stock of these pop's more. Also limit the amount a person can buy to stop flippers from buying the entire stock and selling them on eBay!

You wrote right after me, so Im not sure how to take it. While I am frustrated that 28 WG stores here have never had stock, I most surely dont phone them. I dont blame or accuse, because who know who to blame. I know guys say these will be around for months. Ok fine. But we are already what, a month into the release now? Its just really sad that ebay is flooded with them, now also with chases and theres never been one in my 25 radius. Thats a circle 50 miles across, in any direction. In that circle is me, and no doubt 1000 others looking too.

I've only been able to find punisher, venom and riot storm trooper. There are only 3 walgreens near me and I'm about ready to give up on them and just order them from PC. It's just not worth the constant checking and disappointment for me to try to find them at walgreens.

LOL @ non stop calls. Every Walgreens that I call when it shows 6-9 in stock tells me everyone is calling for them and they did not get them in. Yet later in the day, it will change to 2-5 in stock or eventually out of stock. So you REALLY didn't get them or you didn't bother looking?

I feel ya. I had to drive an hour and 10 min to get a set of the new 4 myself because my Walgreen's never get more in. I'll look out for you on my hunts if you want me to. In Michigan here.

I will say that Walgreens has improved their game as this goes on. The exclusive Star Wars series and this newest Marvel exclusive series seems to have been handled MUCH better than the Marvel exclusives were last year, so at least they're learning and trying to improve.

However, I can't help but feel like they still majorly dropped the ball on the distributuion of these Goblin chases. From what they're saying, the first shipments did not contain the chase Goblin POP. These second wave of shipments do have the chase Goblin, but ALL of the chases that were made are being sent out in these shipments and none will be produced or sent out in future waves.

If that's the case, then when they're gone, they're gone. So it kind of sucks for a lot of people that so many stores are receiving entire shipments of nothing but Chase Goblins, and other areas are getting none at all. There's only so many of these to go around, so that's rather poor distribution when you figure that my friend was able to scoop up 15 Green Goblin chases in 24 hours, and he only had to visit 4 stores to get that many. That should NOT happen!

Though it's awesome for the people that are finding 4-8 chase figures on the same store shelf, it's really gonna suck for everyone else when these dry up in a couple weeks and are gone forever.

Yeah, I know...same here. I just don't think that store tracker is always reliable. Every other store in this area had no stock except like 5 which had none when I went there...several times. There were frozen and star wars but nothing else.

From what I've read, they are supposedly doing a larger production run on these than they did for last years exclusives. I am merely preaching patience.

While I was getting my set a caller was going nuts threatening to call corporate because I was already there getting a set and others came in too, so there was nothing to hold. The person insisted we were only looking to resell them and they were a collector. Really?!?

Another came in like a barbarian beating his chest and growling armed with his phone tracker DEMANDING them.

If it ever gets that bad....time to find a new hobby!!!

I'd say the store checker is EXTREMELY reliable. It's worked like a charm for us. It showed 6 stores having 6-9 on hand. All 6 of those stores had the new Marvel series. Only problem was only one store had an assorted case (2 full sets of regulars) the other 5 stores EACH had 4 Goblin Chases and 2 regular Goblins on the shelf. Wtf?!

It's easier here to build a fort of Green Goblin chases than it is to complete a set of regulars.

The first shipments didnt have the Chase edition...they sent out the assload of chase's to make up for that...supposedly the chase is a 1:6 ratio, HOWEVER sending 4 chase per case to these stores is a major problem. My area hasnt even gotten a single shipment yet. And we will probably never get the chase shipments. However, after this wave I THINK it goes back to 1:6 chase. It doesnt mean they are just going to stop sending them / dry up. It will just be 1 chase for every 3 cases of pops. If they are "gone forever" then what was the point of all of this?

Funny that February 1st, these hit ebay selling for 150+...by February 2, they dropped to 100 or less. February 3rd, 60 or less. Today you can get one for 40. I give it a few more days and we will see 30 bucks shipped on these. Yawn.

I've got the same problem. When it shows 6-9 I call right away. Then they say it's not on the shelf but might be on the truck -- about 2 hours later it changes to 2-5. I'm guessing the best method is to actually go in store for this one. It's either someone is doing that or the employees are taking them.

I've been seeing these show up on Facebook, with sellers looking to sell for around $60 each (Taskmaster). I may have to track down a few of these just to sell at cost and s/h just to mess with the $60 folk.

I've been met with nothing but politeness when calling, and sometimes they do say others are also calling about the same products. Again...I'm not saying that the staff at some locations may not be rude or may even buy them for resell/friends etc, but I'm really satisfied with my personal experience.

With that being said I have 2 sets that are available to board members. I've sent out 3 and will keep buying them from the local store until people lose interest. Please PM me your zip code if you are interested so I can calculate the shipping costs. None of my Taskmasters glow (fyi).

The tracker was accurate today. After a couple weeks of our of stock at several locations, one location changed to 6-9 and I went there and sure enough they had a 1 of each plus 2 chases. Yeah. The distribution is ridiculous. You'd think it would be a simple packing ratio that applies to all stores. But instead, some people end up with 10 Chases in some areas while stores in other areas don't have ANY Chases period.
