They're just the standard 5 shelf bookcases from Target. I bought an extra one to use for extra shelves.
Love those. For some reason, the thought never occurred to me to buy an extra one for extra shelves. Too bad they don't just sell the extra shelves...although I suppose those wouldn't be terribly hard to make yourself.

Re: Your display, the Funko way!
So to all you inbox collectors, how do you display your 6inch Pops!? .... If you go back a few pages you can see my collection, I stack them in rows/collums of 10 (My shelf can fit exactly 100 boxes).
I got my first 6inch Pop! today (Big Daddy) I had no idea the box was a stupid size haha, I thought it was going to be two regular sized boxes wide/high. So now I can't stack my boxes in a neat 10x10 grid.
I might have to become an out of box collector, but I find the boxes look really nice stacked, storage wise it saves space, and sometimes the boxes picture has more detail than the actual toy itself (Kratos' blades, Mike Ehrmantraut has forehead lines etc.)
Ideas?

Hey, I'm new here and I started collecting as of this past Tuesday, October 27th! To be honest i don't really know what ones i want or how I'm going to collect them. For now, i don't like the bobble head ones. I really wanted to buy a lot of the marvel ones but i realized (and now know why, shout to funkofunatics!) that they were all bobble heads I guess I'll just figure it out as I go hahaha. I need to go buy some cool displays like most of you guys have so once I get around to it I'll keep you guys updated!

Welcome! Nice collection so far. The best piece of advice....collect what you like, not necessarily what 's new or trendy. You'll get a lot more satisfaction looking at ones you enjoy instead of ones you bought because everyone else is buying them.

Re: Your display, the Funko way!
yeah just buy what you like and stick to a theme so you don't end up with a pile of 200 figures unless that's what you really want. I found the opposite with the bobbles, my collection in the first post at the top of the page only has one bobble in it, the groot (and c3po nor shown). All the rest of mine are vinyls.donttouchmyketchup wrote:Hey, I'm new here and I started collecting as of this past Tuesday, October 27th! Awesome displays everyone! I recently decided to add some shelves to be a little more uniform in the room and use up more vertical space. This is where I am at so far.

I got them at IKEA they were pretty easy to setup and anchor. Took maybe 10 minutes for each one.

OMG Kimchi, that is awesome!!!
I have yet to get the IKEA display case but I hope to do so soon. Are you planning on installing the same LED lights? Also, have you ever tried out the strip dark lights for your GITD's?

nikegolfer, I believe that Kimchi makes his own risers using foam poster board.

Thanks, I think I might convert to OOB but haven't made the leap. I will mostly keep my star wars collection in box. Everything else might go into the Detolf cases.

Re: Your display, the Funko way!
Thanks guys, and FunkoNinja is correct. My risers are constructed of foam board.
@FunkoNinja, that's actually a cool idea for the lighting for the GITD ones. I may take your idea, put them all in one section, and see how it looks!
@HPLove, GoT is my baby! Thank you! I'm waiting on Ramsey, which is my only missing one at this point. Gamestop screwed up several times getting him to me and supposedly it's getting overnighted by them for tomorrow.
I"ll throw in a quick update pic when the lighting is done on the 5th tower. ( Also going to look into these dark lights that FunkoNinja suggested). A little bit of thought will be necessary about how to attack setting up the risers for the 6" Pops and the bigger automobiles. The foam board will likely not support the weight. Plus I'm getting bored with chopping up the same ole risers!
I think I'm going to start the journey of converting the foam board material into acrylic soon. My local home depot sells big sheets of acrylic and my Dremel has been collecting dust for quite some time. Getting them custom made is WAYYY too expensive for my budget with the quantity I need now.

Can't wait to see your 6" and rides display. What is the thickness of the foam board you are using. Do you have a link of the foam board you bought?

I got them from a local Staples. They were 30" X 40" sheets. Pretty sure they were 3/16" thick.

Wow Kimchi, a 5th case now, awesome! Your setup looks more like a Pop museum all the time
I have 5 as well but they're all over the house and only two have Pops in them (although a 3rd is getting converted).
Some people use those adjustable spice racks from the Container Store, but they're only 3 tier:
http://www.containerstore.com/s/kitchen ... d=10027810
There's also these acrylic risers but they're not cheap:
http://www.acrylichomedesign.com/shop/a ... isers.html
I build my own from black foam core, got the idea from Kimchi. They're actually pretty easy and fun to make. After doing a few tiered risers I got a little crazy and started doing custom risers:
