List of NYCC Exclusives

In my opinion, though, that's kind of a weak substitute in this day and age of social media. This whole forum is owned and ran by Funko- this isn't a fan-made board, so why aren't they on here more regularly to help disseminate information? There should be someone who's job it is to monitor these forums and their social media accounts to address customer concerns and help with other promotions and events

Well then maybe it's your opinion that is weak, since your information isn't correct.

This is a fan-made board, and always has been.
So the board didn't close because of the old host having no further interest to continue hosting it. Brian picked up the tab on hosting this board. So it is hosted by Funko. All the Moderators and the Admin of this board are collectors, not Funko employees, in fact none of them work for Funko.

Yoko was a long time board member here even before she started to work at Funko. I'm sure she is so busy at her job now she has little time to come here and read through every post. Which isn't really her job, or anyone elses at Funko.

Funko has adopted this board as it's own so it wouldn't go the way of the Dodo bird and disappear.

They almost never respond here. I think I've only seen 2 or 3 posts from Funko employees here since I joined around SDCC this year. And only 1 of those posts was a response to someone's question or concern.

If anyone has a question for Funko there is always the option of contacting them via their website. I've hit them up a couple of times and someone has responded to me both times with a few days. And I think Yoko does a pretty good job of responding/dropping hints when she can here in the board. Just my opinion though.

Yeah, Yoko is the only Funko employee I've ever seen on here who responded to someone's question in a thread.

But in regards to your other point, I guess it's nice and all that they have people who respond to whatever you're talking about on their main website.

This board is the official Funko Board but it is not the place where the Funko employees get on everyday to monitor what we say. This is the place for us to talk to each other and have FUN! You can go onto the Twitter account or Facebook group and ask them any question you want.

I know that the Funko Employees have been VERY busy getting ready for NYCC and before that SDCC/Fundays but if you looked around the board more carefully you would see that Brian (Owner of Funko), Yoko and Reis get on the board on a regular basis and try to answer the best they can. You might even do some research and see that Brian holds some very special contests for the members of the board.

All the Funko employees are great at what they do so you might want to have a little patience because as Yoko posted...

Have no fear. We'll be announcing exclusives before NYCC.

P.S. Harry Potter 3-pack is not one of them!

I didn't know that part about this board almost going under and Brian/Funko saving it- that's really awesome of him/them. Though I'm sure you can understand my confusion based on the fact that it is now the "Official" Funko board.

Nevertheless, I think some people here got the wrong impression of what I was trying to say. I wasnt trying to criticize the employees that do come here to post, I was trying to point out that they should have one employee who's job is to do nothing but social media/internet interactions of all kinds instead of a bunch of already overworked employees jumping on when they have the time.

I get what your trying to say. Good point; I think that most of their PR team is on their Facebook, Instagram etc. They probably didn't think it was worth it to pay someone to respond to forum posts all day (I think that would be fun tbh) but we'll see. Cool history lesson for sure.

Our marketing team responds to many, MANY questions every day through our various channels. I get questions on our official platforms and my personal ones. If you think we should be able to get to them all, then you're not correctly imagining how many questions we get Sometimes, we just can't answer. I'm sorry if we missed yours.

Yoko said on the wave one post they will have shared exclusives. Keep in mind shared exclusives would say Limited Edition, which so far only Catbug does

I'm not mad at the pops being available for those who can't attend but I like the rarity of the LE pieces. I like to feel like I stood in the line for something unique. No, not at all- I've been to lots of toy cons before like Gi Joecon, Botcon (Transformers), & Star Wars Celebration and the best part of all of them was always the exclusive toys. It feels great to take home a special exclusive piece that reminds you of the experience. It wouldn't be the same for me if everything was also available at normal retail.

My issue with the shared exclusives is more that there are likely people in line who only want one of the shared exclusives, and if they had been aware that the pieces they were after were available online or in stores, they could have used that time doing something else at the con. Which would also leave more room in line for collectors trying for the more limited figures.

Well s***, here we go for the Who completist, after I busted my a** to get Twelve in a spacesuit. 2000 is better than 1008 at least, and that's more than the other ones are too. Wonder which retail outlets will be able to procure....got Twelve through Toy Wars but I doubt they'll be going to NY for this. Popcultcha maybe?
