Would suck to be one of those people that shell out big bucks for "retired" pops! then sometime later down the road they get unvaulted lol

Honestly, exactly what I was thinking. This would probably frustrate me if I was a collector that had these pieces.

Nah, Funko knows the secondary market too well to simply rerelease vaulted Pops exactly the way they were. If nothing else, they'll at least give new unvaulted Pops different packaging, as to distinguish the old and the new.

So if you're an in-box collector, now is your time to shine brightest! :tink:

This will always happen. Don't buy pops to invest. They want to make money. They will milk it till the end...

I want the Mayor, Mad Hatter, Riddler, and like a dozen others I simply cant afford because of the price hike. That would be too amazing. I look forward to seeing what is coming.

I don't ever plan to sell any of my pops. I buy rarer pieces to differentiate my collection from other people's collections.

Luckily, all of my pops are 2014 and after, so these won't be my pops.

I saw this myself and was about to post. It's very interesting. A character like Green Arrow will sell very well now even with the Arrow line being out. I would fee sorry for those who shelled out on the retired figures but at the same time I want all the DC Pops lol

It stings a little knowing you blew money on something when you didn't need to, but I'm always happy to think that everybody that wants one can get one. I also like the idea of flippers wasting a ton of money buying a bunch of the re-releases not knowing how large the reprints will be. I like to imagine that it definitely happened with Greedo.

While there are some rarer Pop pieces in my collection I've paid premium dollars for (that the collector in me hopes stays retired to justify my money spent), there are MANY more out there that I wish I could have at a retail price and hope they un-vault.
I think it's in Funko's best interest to un-vault some retired ones in steady intervals. It will expand it's market base (hopefully) which in turn will secure more licenses as they become more popular.

This is why I have held off on buying any old related DC pop that was not a LE# from a SDCC. I can not imagine buying let's say a green arrow for $250+ and then it come out with different box art.

I have a couple of pops that I paid more than retail for back before Funko started "un-vaulting" pops. Thankfully, what I paid is only about a quarter of what those pops go for now, but still, it would kind of sting a little if they were to come back, especially when part of the reason I was okay with paying extra for them was because I thought they weren't being made anymore! Ever since Star Wars got re-released, I have gotten better at holding off on buying rare pops heh

I don't know about other people, but part of the fun of collecting for me is hunting down that special grail and paying more than you know you should, but not caring at all because it just makes you so damn happy to look at it proudly displayed in your collection, knowing that it is sought after as well.

While it's great that newer collectors will get a chance at finding older pops without having to pay big bucks, and admittedly there are a few pops that I think it would be nice to get at retail, I do feel for the collectors who paid a lot for some of the pieces in their collection while they were under the impression that they were no longer in production. Sigh!

I'm guessing the toy story ones are the Disney unvaults and im betting green arrow, hawkman and shazam. From the last unvault it seems like they release characters that started going for ridiculous prices on the secondary market. Just a guess.
