Where do you buy your coolest exclusive pops?
Hi Everyone!
As you can probably tell by my post count, I'm new to the board, but I'm also new to Pop collecting and I admit, like my name, I'm a little lost.
So, I was really excited about the idea of not only getting regular Pops (I love Buffy!) but I was also hoping to get some cool rare/exclusive pops. It turns out this is easier said than done.
So, I know there is all of the going ons in San Diego (SDCC and Fundays) but how about the rest of the countries funatics? Where is my best chance to score a cool exclusive (I've already tried Hot Topic and they have some neat exclusives, but couldn't find anything that isn't a million places online).
Thanks a ton ladies and gentlemen!

Well, the biggest question here is...
What exactly are you hoping to score? Funko throws variants round quite literally ALL OVER the place. Nearly every retailer has exclusives now.
Whaddaya lookin' for?!

Re: Where do you buy your coolest exclusive pops?
Hi there and welcome.
Disclaimer, I'm not from the US, so I'll try to be as accurate as possible. It sometimes depends on what it is you are after. Some stores only stock certain exclusives, meaning they are a store exclusive, whereas other exclusives may be a limited run (example only 1008 made), albeit most limited run Pops are from the various Cons (SDCC, NYCC, ECCC, etc).
Actual physical stores (brick and mortar as some say) like Hot Topic, Barnes and Noble, Gamestop, Walgreens, Target, Toy Tokyo are examples of franchises across the US that stock Pops in-store.
There are many more stores that are online only, too many to list, but a few notables are Amazon, Fugitive Toys, Gemini Collectibles, Entertainment Earth, Forbidden Planet (UK), Popcultcha (Australia).
If you are looking for a rare piece that is no longer in stores, try searching on Facebook Groups and generally use eBay as a last resort.
Hope that helps.

You were much more helpful. Although I would say eBay is always good to look at every now and then. I missed my chance at an unopened Stan Lee SDCC that ended up getting sold for $35 shipped. I won a Man of Steel Superman for around $20.

Welcome to the club. The best place to start is navigating through various threads posted up on the boards. You will learn a TON of information about the Funko Pop! world, all the collections available, the many ways of building, and also displaying your collection. You'll start to naturally hone in on which exclusives are worth obtaining, and then start placing your own value on certain ones.
Also, a website that helps me, and many others here, is popgriceguide.com.

Re: Where do you buy your coolest exclusive pops?
Thanks all. My main sets I'm looking for are Buffy, Supernatural, and Marvel stuff. Beyond this, I'm just trying to get some parts that will set my collection apart from the run of the mill collections. I would love to go to Fundays and SDCC, but that's just not in the cards. I've been playing a bit with EBAY (just got a pre-release hot topic exclusive Charlie from Supernatural, so I guess that's interesting) but I was also hoping to find some on my own. I really appreciate you guys' thoughts so far, I'll start looking through the threads and see if there is anything I can start looking for at whichever retailers.

If you don't care about the exclusive sticker on the box, you can find a lot of them at Forbidden Planet International or Popcultcha. Typically when something is exclusive, it means it is only exclusive to a particular region. For example, Glow in the Dark Ant-Man is exclusive to Hot Topic in america, but you can purchase him at Popcultcha as well, because PC is based in australia. Shipping costs are often higher but depending on the Pop, it could still be much cheaper.

Welcome!
A lot of time with exclusives it is good to know beforehand which ones are coming and when so you can prepare for the hunt. I've always kept an eye on http://popvinyls.com/ and https://www.facebook.com/pages/Funko-Pop-Hunters/200866590115261?fref=ts(Funko Pop Hunters-a group on facebook). They are always in the know about what is coming out, who is going to have it, and an estimation of when it arrives. Of course Funko has a facebook page too which puts out alerts for upcoming new products (https://www.facebook.com/originalfunko?fref=ts). darthfyer did a fantastic job of listing where to find both regular and exclusive pops so definitely check those out. In the end sometimes you get lucky and hit the jackpot of good ones and other times it takes a while to find just one you were looking for. Good luck and happy collecting!

Hot Topic seems to have the lock on Supernatural Pops! although the variants are getting a little tired now. They have three variations on Castiel and they have exclusivity on him. Try their website if you don't want to find a mall. They also have a demon-eyed Crowley that was simply Crowley with red eyes. At least the FBI Winchesters are a different build than the primary ones.

Thanks Hawklovespurple. I've liked both of the groups you mentioned on Facebook. Hopefully this will give me an upper hand when new stuff comes in (who knows, maybe we'll get Buffy batch 2....I won't hold my breath though)

Re: Where do you buy your coolest exclusive pops?
Brick and mortar stores I use are Hot Topic (have 2 in a nearby town), Gamestop, Barnes and Noble (2 in a nearby city), Wal-Mart (hit or miss), Target (hit or miss), and Movie Stop. I just discovered that Movie Stop has a large selection of pops, with quite a few exclusives as well. I grabbed a Daenerys & Drogon double pack, Captain Cold: unmasked, Thanos GOTD and a few other non-exclusives I haven't been able to find in stores. It was a great haul! Has anyone else tried movie stop? I haven't seen it mentioned. I just went in on a whim while my wife was in Kirkland's yesterday...place is amazing.
Online, I use amazon, ebay, hot topic (free in-store pick-up), forbidden planet, Gemini, and popcultcha.

I can vouch for this site. I bought a Stan Lee for $30 (plus shipping and tax) and he came in perfect condition. A bit pricey and may take a while to ship but they definitely have a good selection of exclusives.
