Re: Marvel POP! Updates Thread 2015 (Updated June 22nd)
From the information I've put together it looks as if the 6in Hulk will not be happening. On Funko's Twitter account they stated that this last update (Wave 10) was the final update and as you can see there is no Hulk in this update either. https://twitter.com/OriginalFunko/statu ... 2408434688
If the rumor is still true the only thing I can think of is one of 2 things:
A) It is an exclusive for a different company who will be at SDCC and they just haven't announced it or
B) They want it to be a surprise at SDCC or Fundays

A 6 inch Hulk was the Pop I was looking forward to the most. Looks like no Marvel SDCC exclusives for me

I don't understand the "want" for a six inch Hulk. similar in stature like Killer croc would be fitting. Also really looking forward to Steve Rogers, Blackout Ant-Man, & Nova Rocket w/ Groot.

The want is obvious, Hulk is a monster. He should have been 6" to start with and with the 6" Hulkbuster it only makes more sense.

It would be out of scale with hulkbuster. It is twice hulk's size.

ok fair enough, hulkbuster is a bit bigger. I still think Hulk needs to stand out from the rest of the Marvel crowd...he's the same size pop as the notoriously short Wolverine.

Hulk should be more like 4.5". I don't understand the obsession people have of wanting a Hulk the size of the Hulkbuster. Have you even seen the movie? The Hulkbuster is massive compared to the Hulk.

The size of killer croc would be good.

This.
6" Hulk was the only one I was hoping for, too. Guess I won't need to stress so much about stalking Popcultcha at 1am

And as per the size argument? He should be the same size as Thanos:

Current Pop! Count: 700
On Pre-order/en route: 10

Yes Hulk is the same size as thanos. Thanos as cool as he is in a 6" pop really had no business being a 6". Another one that needed to be killer croc size just like hulk. Another let down was ultron. Dude is over 8 ft tall and only got a normal size pop, and not even a metallic one at that.

I agree. Not having a metallic Ultron is a missed opportunity. Grinning Ultron? Meh.

Ya unless that rumored Metallic Quicksilver comes up tomorrow during the last SDCC announcements tomorrow it's doubtful.
I heard via one of the funko designers, can't remember who now, that the Quicksilver Pop was the casualty of an unfortunate licensing war between MCU and Fox.
Marvel has all the merchandising rights. That's why you don't see much Xmen movie merch, nor products for the new Fantastic Four film. I feel it may just be taking a little longer than expected, I hope it's not licensing.

I will be attending SDCC this year so just a heads up that I will essentially be MIA next week. I'll maybe be able to get on the forums late at night, but that's about it. On Monday I'm going to move all the SDCC Exclusives from coming soon to the just released as they should be available to purchase as early as Wednesday. It's even possible a few get purchased before hand and hit ebay.
Not Funko related but you should really check out the Marvel pins that will be available at the Marvel booth. OMG!! I so badly want all of them. http://www.mtv.com/news/2199678/marvel- ... oung-pins/

Just found the old FB/Instagram interaction between @Ryespop and Michael Keith Martin, the creator of the AOU Pop Set. Doesn't confirm Quicksilver is dead in the water but does address that there have been problems with it.

Ugh not having Quicksilver is going to blow. I was hoping for a complete line up of heroes this time since avengers 1 lacked Widow and Hawkeye.

How did Scarlet Witch manage to get made then since they are twins?
Could be due to Fox using Quicksilver in the X-Men movies and Scarlet Witch not being in them. Sucks tho :/

That just doesn't make sense.

Either way, he's a popular character and if anything is stopping it, it's licensing. Although I highly doubt it since Marvel/Marvel Studios owns all merchandise rights, including the ones to The Amazing Spider-Man 2, hence, why we saw Pops/other assorted merch for that film, and none for Days of Future Past in the same year. I don't think Fox has a hand in this, but they have shown a disregard to what the fans want in the past!

I would make the assumption that they had a lot of progress on the Quicksilver Pop itself since they even had a variant lined up. I would assume from this that a number was also established. I wonder if we will now have a missing number in the series should he get canned? We are already missing #63.

I feel like they wouldn't go that far into the process without being 2000% sure the licenses were in place because that's just a bad idea.

100% sure it's the fact that Fox has the license.
Come to think of it, I haven't seen a lot of merchandise that has QuickSliver and Scarlet Witch on it.
Really sucks if he doesn't get made.

There's quite a bit of Scarlet Witch products. But nothing for Quicksilver.
My guess it has to deal with AoU's ending or Fox and not promoting anything related to that. Even if the characters are vastly different.

Okay, that's just crap.
First of all Lego has a Quicksilver, Hot Toys has 2 Quicksilvers. and Marvel themselves own all Merchandising rights! for every movie, Fox, Sony, Disney anyone...
If he doesn't show up, and Bard didn't either that's pretty sad news
I know ya'll at Funko care about every fan, and i know you want to please everyone.

You think Funko makes the decisions on what Funko releases, that's cute. I'm sure you hated AoU because Tony created Ultron right? You know Civil War will also suck because key characters are over at other studios. Remember what makes our world turn...

I realize the SDCC pops aren't out yet, but Toy Wars finally has a price for the SDCC Marvel exclusives. They are no less than $49.99.
This is my first time trying to get SDCC exclusives. If that is the general price range, I'm out.
Here is hoping that is not the average price on the internet for these things.

They are marking them up since they wont be getting as many as they use too. They are using "market price" and not the sale price.
