Comic book incarnations Or MCU

Postby ChewyVee » Sun Jun 14, 2015 1:24 pm

I'm a fan of both, but some POP! figures I'd like to see a classic comic book look such as Thor instead of getting constant MCU takes. Which do you prefer?

Discuss.

I like the comic versions best but they're all great. I think Funko does a good job of going both ways. Last two marvel waves were the Spidey walgreen exclusives and Age of Ultron.

Reeeeeeeeeally hope the rumors of August's collector corps box being Secret Wars is true!

I like the MCU ones, but I would be on board for having a lot more comic book versions.

I've limited myself to MCU for everything except X-Men and a few others (Punisher) But so far that's just been AoU and GotG with Ant-Man otw.

I'd rather see comic versions but know in the current climate they need to push the films so we're going to get lots more McU. On the plus side we'll keep getting comic costume x-men as Marvel aren't in charge of those films!

I would like to see comic book versions of all of the characters. Particularly I want a Vision comic book version. If you've seen Abernaffy's custom of it, you'll know why.

I mostly like both, but some MCU outfits are a little plain - like Scarlet Witch and Hawkeye. If they can do 50,000 Batman variants, surely Funko can make a few classic Marvel variants :P

I would definitely like more from the comic books. I would love to see a bearded Thor with his metal arm, or a spider-man in the superior suit with arms or superior iron man.

Yes please!

I think the MCU ones are done a lot better but at the same time it really bugs me that we have so many versions of some MCU characters but yet so many important comic characters are yet to be made. I mean we are just now finally getting Daredevil but we have several C-list MCU characters? Seems kinda crazy.

Hawkeye died (for me) the day he lost his purple pointy mask and outfit. Now he looks like a chippendales dancer who just rode in on his ninja motorcycle........Just like all of the current xmen!

Overall I prefer comic versions, and I'm SUPER happy we are getting that for the X-Men and their circle of mutants, although I think a lot more need to be made. The MCU versions of the Avengers aren't bad though and the Ant Man ones look pretty good.

I grew up on 90s comics, so I'd love to see them, personally.

I find the comic versions superior to the MCU. I would absolutely prefer a comic version of Thor, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, and Vision over their MCU counterparts. I have the Iron Patriot Pop but that's Norman Osborn and not Rhodey as far as I'm concerned lol

I'd prefer the comic book versions, as even in comics their costumes changed over time.

I'd prefer both. I think the reason why there aren't comic book versions of MCU characters is that Marvel doesn't want to confuse the general (non-comic-reading) populace.

Personally I like both but I'd definitely like to see some more comic centric sculpts..I just did a custom anti venom because I wanted a comic version. I'd really like a carnage myself!

I'd love some more Jim Lee-esque X-Men, maybe to coincide with X-Men 92 this month; wishful thinking :D
