Will we ever get Disney Princes?

As of a few days ago Funko currently has no plans to make any more Disney Prince Pop!s. They said that the only one that has a chance of being made at this point is Aladdin. I know I am not the only who wants to see more made. There are a number of new Disney Pop!s being released soon, but the closest thing we are getting to a Disney Prince Pop! is Naveen in frog form. A second Ariel is being released, but we still don't have Eric. Aurora is being released, but Phillip isn't. Rapunzel and Maxiumus are being made, but not Flynn or Mother Gothel for that matter. Worst of all Aladdin is the main character in his film and there are three other characters (Jasmine, Genie, and Jafar) that have been made into Pop!s, but Aladdin still hasn't been made. Disney Princes are one of the main characters in their films and yet they are being ignored and not included in the Pop! line. At the very least Funko you should make the more popular princes like Aladdin, Eric, and Flynn.

I agree! Philip is my favorite, but I kind of understand why they wouldn't make the 3 early princes. BUT I don't understand why Flynn and Aladdin wouldn't be given, and I know Eric is pretty popular, too. I wonder if it's more Disney's doing than Funko's.

they have omitted far too many Disney princes and villains...

Princes - Handsome Prince (Snow White), Prince Charming (Cinderella), Prince Phillip (Sleeping Beauty), Eric (Little Mermaid), ALADDIN, Li Shang (Mulan), Naveen (Princess and the Frog in human form), Flynn Ryder (Tangled)

Villains - Prince Hans (Frozen), Mother Gothel (Tangled), Shan Yu (Mulan), Queen of Hearts (Alice in Wonderland), Gaston (Beauty and the Beast

Who else agrees that going forward they need to make the villain, hero, and love interest at a minimum for each movie, and the ones I'm dying for the most are:
-Hercules: Hercules, Meg, Hades (with Phil, Pegasus)
-Tarzan: Tarzan, Jane, Clayton (with Turk, Kala, Jane's dad)
-Hunchback of Notre Dame: Quasimodo, Esmeralda, Frollo (I think you also make Capt. Phoebus and Clopin)

Also if Pocahontas is still happening (I haven't heard anything about her since Christmas) the wave has to be Pocahontas, John Smith, Gov. Ratcliffe

Aladdin is sorely needed! I would also buy the hell out of Flynn Rider and Mother Gothel for Tangled.
I have my Disney Princess Collection, and I would love to up a Prince collection if I knew we were definitely getting a good line up of princes

That’s awful news! I mean, yes, the princess characters are more popular and I prefer them myself, but it’s sort of like having a bride figurine on a cake without the groom to go with it. Literally for Tiana, who’s in her wedding dress. [-X

If they won’t even release main characters like Aladdin, Flynn, etc., I guess that means miscellaneous characters like King Triton, Mama Odie, or the three good fairies are very unlikely? At least we got the Beast and Kristoff... Although I'm thinking Frozen fever is the only reason we lucked into the latter.

Maybe Funko will do something like Hasbro does with its female Power Ranger keys and release them as a set? 2 or 4 pack of the most popular Disney Prince, but that's wishful thinking.

I agree, Marie. I'm getting more involved with Disney collecting lately and would like to see them expand more.

I'm about to start collecting all the princesses for my girlfriend. She's finally caving in to my addiction and wants to join the party $\:D/$ While some of the obvious ones I know, there are some that I'm not aware of or may not have on my radar. I wonder if any fanatics can name off their head all the princesses Pop has released? It would make my job much easier! lol

I really wish I knew the decision making process that Funko goes through when deciding which Pops to make and what not! I think we'd all love to know the logic behind releasing 3 other characters from a movie but not the main character himself! No doubt the majority of people who have one or all of Jasmine, Jafar and Genie would buy Aladdin to go with them. My only guess is that the licensing agreement didn't permit him to be made, because I can't think of any other reason why not :/

Add my name to the list waiting for Hunchback and Hercules. Megara and Esmerelda are two of my all-time favorite Disney ladies, and neither get nearly enough merch - but I agree. I don't like to get one from ANY series, it just seems...lonely. :/ So seeing more "sets" of characters would be welcome.

MTE on the villains, too! I can't BELIEVE the Queen of Hearts and Gaston haven't been made.

Hercules is my #1 wished-for Pop line right now tbh. I'd love The Great Mouse Detective, too.

That they haven't done the Queen of Hearts is a real mystery. But I'm surprised by most of the missing villains. I suppose if I squint I could understand them not prioritizing the princes, but villains have always been popular in merchandise for Disney.

I'd love to have Hercules & Megara. Love them individually and as a couple.

I'm not gonna lie, I would really like to pick Brian's brain to find out if these character omissions were Disney's idea or Funko's. Also I imagine a LOT of us can agree that Aladdin is by a mile the most glaring omission from any Funko line because every other movie or TV show they have made pops of, if the title is a characters' name, that character has been made. Examples: Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Lilo & Stitch, Wreck-It Ralph, Rocketeer, Pinocchio, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Peter Pan, Dumbo, Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, Wall-E, Finding Nemo, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Harry Potter. But where the heck was Aladdin when they made the other 3 main characters from HIS movie??? Even at Disneyland you can go get a picture with Aladdin almost every day and he is in the parade, Jasmin isn't always there for photos and isn't in the parade.

the second most glaring omission to me is Gaston because Belle and the Beast were in series 2, then last year we got peasant Belle and the enchanted objects, and I associate the peasant dress with Gaston.

Why are all the princes and villains being held back? Is it really the licensing issues with certain character names? Or because Disney is more focused on the princess line for merch?

The only Prince I really want is Prince Phillip but I would get also Eric,Aladdin & human verison of Prince Naveen. But Prince Phillip is the one I want the most send he is my favorite Prince out of all of them and send I finally broke down and got the 12' Prince Phillip doll yesturday at the Disney Store.

lI don't think it's just princes we should be talking about, but male Dinsey characters in gneral. The only three I can think of (not counting Mickey and company) is Peter Pan, Jafar, and the Beast (who might not even count). Not only are we missing the princes, but also major villains like Hans and Gaston. I'm always down for more Disney, but it's crazy that Aladdin hasn't been made before Jafar, and Flynn being left out of the Tangled series is crazy. Even though funko may not see the want for Disney princes, I hope they'll change their minds.
